I've never eaten there, but often go for the drinks, vibe, and live music. After over a dozen years in SE Asia, a single night here is one of my fondest memories. Soi Buakhow was raised to accommodate traffic during monsoon season. Unfortunately that means Buakhow is a dam to any nearby road east of it. And Triangle Bar is a dozen or so meters east of soi Buakhow. Sois 23 and 25 merge at rge wester side of the bar (hence the Triangle). The bar itself is raised: floods occur annually. So we all were high and dry. The band stopped playing at midnight, but The Triangle served drinks until 0200, and at 0145 they announced that we (quite a packed crowd) could stay on, but needed to order and buy booze before 0200. Since the Triangle was an island in the floodwater, it was packed full of fabulous folks. I chatted with a Welshman from Cardiff, two Scots from Aberdeen, a Brazilian from Rio, and a tres chic 80-year old Vietnamese woman from French Indochina days. About 0400 the waters were down to knee-high, so I waded over to Buakhow and my hotel, with a dozen other Trianglers (wouldn't you know it, motorbikes drove west at fairly fast speeds creating chest-high waves left and right into the pedestrian waders). I've traveled all over the world, and that night at the Triangle Bar was one of the most memorable in my life. Since then, I've taken numerous American and Thai friends to the Triangle. The live bands are great; the staff are great; the management on that monsoon night was greatest of all. Shame on me for not reviewing the Triangle Bar years ago. Everyone I've ever introduced to the Triangle has loved the place, and returned to Triangle whenever they return to Pattaya. (I've never dined there, so I can't review their food.) NOTES: prices are quite reasonable; but wheel-chair accessibility is dodgy at best, because you have to get several feet above soi-level. I spent well over 500 on that memorable flood night, but normally about 300 or 400 baht max. The zero rating for food is because I've never...
Read moreWell known and established music bar situated on the corner of Soi Pothole. They have two bands, playing 3 & 4 nights a week accordingly. Both bands are (I’m gonna say) excellent, play to a great standard, and have bags of character. They work hard to provide variety and not the usual boring same old songs that you hear in a lot of music bars. Nancy & Yoki head up their respective bands and the guy that sings with Yoki is also really good. They have the pole dancer in between sets, which is ok, but gets a bit same same. The 2 for 1 drinks are a good idea and represent excellent value. Only criticism is the seating, sometimes a bit awkward to know where to sit and you have to rely on staff seeing you to try and get you a table (often with other people). Service work really hard and are always very friendly with zero pressure to buy them a drink. Hats off to the...
Read moreAs a lover of Pattaya's live music scene, I'm sure you'll find something in here that will suit your ear buds. Tends to be a different group of musicians each night with some nights being slightly better than others but overall it's an all round enjoyable musical experience at non ear splitting levels. The only thing I don't like about this bar is the two for one drinks 'promotion' they do where basically your forced to buy two bottles of beer at a time. That's ok if you're there with a partner but if you're on your own it means that you can't really just pop in for the one beer. Well, you can but you'll be paying 140 Baht instead of 70. Would I go back? Yes, and do so...
