As a native New Yorker, I take the concept of pizza very seriously. I happened upon New York Pizza House as I was walking around Pattaya, and I absolutely had to stop in and see if they really deserved the name “New York” (hint: they totally do!)
First off, when I walked into the restaurant, it absolutely looked and smelled exactly like a proper pizzeria! It was perfect! The staff was friendly, too, and the tables were clean (honestly, nicer than many places back home in New York).
The tables even had a variety of condiments, and while it wasn’t an exact match on all the condiments (we are literally on the opposite side of the planet from New York), it was super close, and they even get extra points for having Frank’s Red Hot at the table (it was in an unlabeled bottle, but as a New Yorker, I know Frank’s Red Hot anywhere… I was raised on that hot sauce!)
When it comes to the pizza itself, the pizza was made fresh for me (unlike many New York places which sometimes have old pizza that sat around all day), and you could tell that it was made with love. You could tell that the ingredients were fresh and were of good quality. If anything, that was actually one of the things that was less authentic, in the sense that it was almost “too fresh and nice” to taste like it was from a random pizza joint in NYC (ha!). Seriously! I wound up throwing a bunch of condiments on the pie (as we New Yorkers do), and it was a taste of home!
Now, I want to be clear: As a New Yorker, I will state that nothing will ever be the same as sitting in a Lower East Side pizzeria run by a guy named Joey who’s 4th generation Italian… but New York Pizza House is REEEEEEALLY CLOSE, which is probably the highest compliment a New Yorker can give!
Thank you, New York Pizza House for bringing the flavor of New York to Pattaya, Thailand! Your food is amazing! Your pizza is delicious! Your restaurant is beautiful and clean! Your staff is friendly and attentive! A+ 10/10!...
Read moreI do not live in Pattaya but I come to Pattaya very frequently. Every time I come, for years, I drive past this place with wonder of how would their pizza taste like. As a pizza lover, I like going around trying pizzas at different places. I have not tried any other pizza places in Pattaya because I happened to taste this place's pizza first and their pizza is good, if not, the best pizza I ever had in my life. Their marinara sauce is spot on, just the right amount of tang needed to balance the overall flavor and umaminess of the pie. The regular crust is crispy and chewy. Their hot and spicy wings have good texture but the flavor is buffaloesque which is too bright for my liking but should appeal to the Americans which are familiar to Buffalo-style wings. The wings in the picture below is the barbecue sauce one which I find to like it more. The spaghetti is also good their meatball is very tasty. The problem is that I want to try other places but I just can't seem to stop thinking about this place every time I want pizza in Pattaya. Only thing needed to improve is that the waiter(ess) was not so nice, speaking in a...
Read moreThe pizza here is very delicious, the staff and service are very good, they are open late, and the restaurant itself is comfortable with spacious booths and tables, but it loses a star solely because they advertise on the front window that they accept credit cards, but when you go to pay with your phone they can't accept the contactless (touch and go) eWallet payment because they have an old and outdated card processing terminal. So, in order to pay by card, you need to have the actual physical credit card with you, which is not only an outdated method for accepting card payments but also a big security risk for card skimming and number copying given how prevalent credit card fraud is here in Asia, especially Thailand!
I was so excited to start eating here daily once I noticed the credit card sign and the good taste of the pizza, but alas they are using old and outdated card processing terminals so now I have to keep searching for an ideal pizza place, which is unfortunate because this place was so close to perfect!
