Por U-Yen Pattaya Review
If you’re in Pattaya and looking for a place that serves great Thai food with a cozy, no-fuss vibe, Por U-Yen should definitely be on your list. This local favorite has been around for a while, and it’s known for its flavorful dishes and friendly atmosphere.
The Ambiance
Por U-Yen offers a simple and relaxed setting. It’s not a fancy, high-end restaurant, but it’s clean, welcoming, and perfect for casual dining with friends or family. It feels very much like a place where locals go, which is always a good sign for authentic flavors.
The Food
The menu here is all about traditional Thai dishes, done right. You’ll find all your favorites, from som tam (papaya salad) and grilled pork neck to a delicious tom yum soup and perfectly fried fish. Every dish is packed with bold, balanced flavors, just like good Thai food should be.
If you’re a seafood lover, you’re in for a treat. Their steamed fish with lime and chili and stir-fried prawns with garlic are absolute must-tries. The portions are generous, and the ingredients are fresh—exactly what you’d hope for in a Thai meal.
The Service
The staff are friendly and attentive, making you feel at home from the moment you walk in. Don’t be shy to ask for recommendations—they’re more than happy to help you pick something you’ll love.
The Verdict
Por U-Yen is a solid choice if you want authentic Thai flavors without the touristy frills. It’s a great spot for anyone who values good food, fair prices, and a relaxed atmosphere.

Food came out hot and pretty quick but they had gotten my order wrong as I had ordered Shrimp Fried Rice and they brought me crab instead. Maybe my Thai is really bad but I feel like I’ve been doing well everywhere else. But I did ask for a menu that was in English just to be sure they had what I wanted. But my waiter who was the bigger guy seemed to be in a rush and couldn’t care less about what we wanted. But the other folks working were a bit better. Overall the food here is mediocre, it isn’t the worst I’ve ever had, nor is it the best but it’s someplace I wouldn’t come back to again. The service wasn’t that great either. Although I will say the bar next door be playing some mid 2000’s bangers on the stereo, which was a plus for me. So yeah I don’t recommend this...
