I stayed here for 4 nights, my first time to stay although I have eaten in the restaurant on many occasions, over the years. |Klein Heidelberg is on the north of Pattaya, 100 meters off Naklua Road. The location really suited me as it away from the hustle and bustle of Pattaya, and yet you can get downtown in 10 minutes, or less, by baht bus (cost 25 cents). There is a wide selection of bars, restaurants and shopping in the immediate area, and not much more than a 5 minute walk to the lovely beach at Wongamat. |My room was very comfortable, with good aircon, flat screen TV, a great bed, etc.. I was a little worried about traffic noise, as the road can be very busy, especially with tour buses bringing tourists to and from beachfront hotels, and my room was on the 1st floor, overlooking the road. However, I was not disturbed by traffic noise, and I slept like a baby. |It is owned by a charming German man, whose name is Jurgen, who was very helpful to me. The manager, a Thai lady, is efficient, pleasant and courteous. |Food in the restaurant is very good, and reasonably priced. I can think of only one word to describe the staff, in the restaurant and the guesthouse , " SWEETHEARTS ". |Jurgen, I...

Read moreHaving eaten here a few times before we visited again this year and oh what a disappointment. Previously frequented mostly by German clientele it now seems to mostly be the haunt of the ever-growing Russian tourist hordes.||||When we arrived most of the empty tables were piled high with dirty plates from previous diners. We managed to find a clean-ish table and sat down. We were given a menu by a very unfriendly waitress who eventually came back to take our order. We ordered starters of Prawn cocktail, goulash and tomato soup.||||Prawn cocktails were ok as was the tomato soup. The goulash would be better described as beef stew.||||Our choice of mains were Pork knuckle with dark bread. goulash with potatoes and beef in oyster sauce.||||The pork knuckle was par for the course. All 3 beef dishes contained very tough and chewy beef. Most of it was left as too much like hard work to eat.||||On top of all this the prices were well over the top for a cafe style restaurant. They need to get their act in order before I would go back. There are literally thousands of places to eat in Pattaya so you don't need to put up with this standard of...
