The Glass House Silver — Restaurant in Pattaya City

Updated review: Disappointing overpriced food. Because of their great setting and atmosphere I eat at this place every time I visit Pattaya and have always enjoyed it, but that was pre-covid times, and like many other businesses their quality has suffered since. I think they’ve also jacked up their prices too. Anyway, their fried chicken wings were one of the worse I’ve ever eaten, anywhere! I mean, this is Thailand! We ordered this because it’s usually the safest bet for it to be good. The fish in their curry tasted old and dry too. Cocktails were quite expensive and food portions were small for high prices. If this was my first visit I’d never go back there again, but as I’ve had so many good times here in the past I’ll give it one more try next year before giving up on it. Hope they improve themselves by then. I've left my 5-star review from last year below so you can see the difference.

My wife had a very unpleasant and embarrassing experience at this café during her visit this morning. She arrived at 11:17 AM hoping to enjoy a peaceful coffee by the window with a view of the beach. A staff member told her that the table was reserved but kindly allowed her to sit there for up to one hour, which she appreciated.

After getting her drink, she quietly enjoyed her time, looking out over the beach. However, after just 30 minutes, around 11:45 AM, a different staff member abruptly told her she had only 10 minutes left—not directly, but rather while setting another table and speaking to her across the archway, which felt dismissive and disrespectful.

It wasn’t just about being asked to leave early—it was the tone and manner that left her feeling embarrassed and unwelcome, especially as she was sitting alone and not causing any inconvenience.

The situation could have been handled much more politely and professionally. Sadly, this experience left a very negative impression.

The atmosphere was okay, with both seaside seating and air-conditioned rooms available. The food, however, was quite ordinary and not really to my taste — the flavors leaned toward being bland. Portion sizes were moderate, leaning toward the smaller side. It seems like the majority of the customers are foreign tourists. Service was average, nothing particularly different from other restaurants.

What really disappointed me was finding a long strand of hair tangled with the squid and dried chili. At that point, I lost my appetite and didn’t want to continue eating. I didn’t make a fuss, but I informed the staff, and they did apologize.

Personally, I wouldn’t go back again — mainly because the taste didn’t suit me, the portion sizes were not very satisfying, the prices felt high compared to what you get, and the cleanliness issue was...
