Al Dente Italian Bistro Khaolak — Restaurant in Phang-nga Province

This is a high-class establishment with prices above average. We were there on launch day and there was a celebration with live music and dancers. The staff is friendly, and the hostess gave me a very professional vibe. The food was good in line with the higher price.

However, there were some glitches that can be forgiven given it was the first day.

First, some tables were positioned in areas with no fans or AC.

Second, the staff commonly forgot to check up on your table.

Third, the food came in a random order and dessert was offered while my partner was still eating.

Fourth, drinks took so long to be served that we got double since our reminder (always to different staff since they didn't seem to be organised by table) was treated as a new order.

All in all. A nice place with a bright future for those who can pay...

This restaurant is part of the Sandal's hotel and it's specialized in Italian dishes. Our pizza crust surpassed expectations as the dough was thin and crunchy. The sauce was quite tasty, but the seafood was very scarce. The staff was extremely nice and attentive. The drink prices were very high, and the happy hour specials mislead customers to believe that the mocktails are made in a similar way as the regular price ones. We came here last year and it was really good. This year the food tasted terrible. The ravioli tasted as though it has been in the freezer for months before cooking. We were charged a ridiculous amount to add capsicum and olives to a pizza. The pizza is essentially just dough with no topping and the pasta serving size was insanely small. For the price you pay, you would expect a generous serving. At the end of the day a pizza and pasta with a small entree should not cost THB 1,400!! Absolutely insane.
