Spinach Restaurant — Restaurant in Phang-nga Province

It became for us the most expensive restaurant for our all hollidays and really by far not the best. We ordered for our kids apple juice as usual. We got something like 12,5cl for 80B, for comparaison, a Cocktail is 99B. I have never seen such a small quantity for drinks anywhere else, not even in Europe you would get at least 25 cl. Food all over for the family was ok but portion still much smaller as other Restaurant of the areas. I took Squid grilled, supposed to be a speciality, it came by far the smaller I had or seen during my 2 weeks stays and came not even hot within less than 7min. Obviously not freshely cooked. They warmed it again but not even an appology. If you want a great fish food experience, go across the street to Orchid, you will get a great fish or squid you will pick they will do at BBQ at a descent price and you will get a better value of your evening. Other note, the waitress which is only ordering, was constantly coughing in her hands, obviously not washing them. Not great additional sign. However the deco is really by far the nicest I have seen. One of our least favorite meals in Thailand tonight. We have been here a month this time and come to Thailand for a month or 2 every year. Decided to try spinach because we walk past it daily and the staff out front are lovely. Bad mistake the frozen margaritas was the worst cocktail this month. We ordered only the green chicken curry to share with rice. Was ok in flavour but had some vegetable in it that was so hard that you need to use a knife with a lot of force to cut it. Tried to ask what it was and was told pumpkin. It wasn’t. And it was rock hard! Took ages to get service to get the bill. When it did come the bill was 1200 baht for one curry one beer and one cocktail. After yet another wait for service to come back to us I proceed up to cashier to queried it and got the amended bill of 375 baht so the food was reasonable priced and the restaurant is a nice setting. WOW! You have to really keep an eye out for this one, as it's easy to miss on the main road. but it's well worth the small effort. We sort of accidentally found it on Sunday evening, and by Tuesday evening we had eaten there 4 times within 3 days. The back of the place is really spacious, tastefully furnished/decorated, and comfortable (open air, lots of fans, plush seating, upbeat music, etc.) It's especially ideal for families and/or larger groups. The menu is expansive. We tried a combination of Thai and European dishes, and every single item impressed. Also a large selection of drinks and good quality house wine. The staff is super friendly and efficient. This was by far the nicest and most "professional" restaurant we visited in Khaolak, and to be honest, I'd be happy eating every meal there next time.
