One demographic of burger lovers will find these burgers and my opinion hard to swallow (pun intended). And they are indeed those who love their burgers thick and medium rare. Putting that potential debate aside, I foresee smash burger lovers thoroughly enjoying burgers here.
Last night I ordered the Bacon Blue. I'm not a fan of blue cheese, but I felt inclined to not be boring with my dinner choice - oh trust me I know, the irony! A burger in Bangkok! But hear me out. This decision has context to it and that's because my first ever (adulthood) 'favourite burger' is the forever infamous but now defunct 'Mother Trucker' burger. IYKYK. Since its departure from the scene, my heart has never loved any other. Evident as my 2nd night this trip bore witness to me consuming a burger as dinner again in a country where street food is King!
But bite down with me. And picture this. A section of crisp edge hits your gentle tongue. Your palatte awakens. Crisp texture, smokey flavour. "Medium??" Your mind questions as you pull the burger away to look at its cross section. Admit it we all do this. Before you get a chance to deliberate, the juices from the patties flow through the fields of taste buds on your tongue and mouth and... that was the moment I said to myself that THAT, damn that is a good burger. I had sauce dripping down up till my elbows and onto my shirt and shorts before my subconscious could pull my mind away from that ridiculous umami beefy taste in my mouth.
The juice that oozes isn't just moisture. But it is purpose. It holds so much taste and almost viscous in texture. Rendered fat and sauce? I don't know. Nor does it matter. What matters is that it happened and a memory forever etched in my mind it will be.
The gorgonzola accompanies you through the trip. Its always there, never overpowering, instead empowering the rich flavour from the beef. A deeper kind of flavour than your regular cheddar, so that was refreshing in itself.
Their potato buns were the front and rear guard. They held their form, springy, slightly chewy. Darker in colour than most burger joints, and I think that visually creates a moodier, more refined visual appeal. Even in photos. Their purpose accomplished, and more.
No complaints nor honourable mentions about the ranch sauce and bacon jam. Finishing it off are pickles for your acid and that is the Bacon Blue Burger in all its beauty. I thoroughly enjoyed that albeit it being an unorthodox choice of burger.
I'm sure we all can tell what impressed me most about the burger, which is why I look forward to trying their other burgers. Because if the foundations are great.. then I can envision having no beef with the rest of the menu. Pun intended, of course.
Easy burger is accomplishing two things in my life. One, participation in my search for a favourite burger. And two, metaphorically discussing the question of 'searching' in our daily lives. When... when does that search for the best/perfect/favourite burger end? Does it ever? Does it have to, and does it really matter?
Does this mean I will have another burger tonight? And will it be...
From Easy...

Your old way of grilling the buns was PERFECT. Every burger lovers expect the buns to be juicy.
Grilling the buns on the grill with beef patty and letting them absorb the grease like you guys did was PERFECT. Please don't put them into the toaster like you are doing now, it makes the buns hard and dry.
THIS RUINED THE MAGIC OF YOUR BURGER. I don’t why you changed but this has turned your top notch burger into just a normal burger you can find anywhere, you know, those burgers that look real nice on the photo but taste like someone who don’t undertand cooked it.
Easy Burger used to be my best burger in Bangkok. Please make your burgers great again.
I really love your attitude towards your customers and their feedbacks. No wonder why your burgers end up being like this.
Keep it up with that mindset!

"Also, pretty sure nobody wants a juicy burger bun, that's definitely a no-go when it comes to burgers. The beef patty on the other hand, should be juicy 😉 "
I have to disagree with the statement that a juicy bun is a 'definitely no-go.' My friends and I actually like juicy buns very much. It's important to remember that tastes can vary, and some people might prefer a different texture.
I'm not suggesting you overhaul your entire operation. There's no need to make any changes on my account. I'm just sharing my perspective as one of your customers. If my feedback isn't helpful, that's perfectly...
Read moreI used to LOVE this place but over the last while it's lost some of its shine and I felt the need to write a review. Firstly they stopped serving ice with the coke, in BANGKOK! I have never heard of any restaurant in Thailand not serving ice with the drinks, Thai people need ice in their drinks, so this is just a bad idea right from the start. At first I just stopped ordering a drink, but then I didn't enjoy the meal as much so I decided to stop by 7-11 to buy a cup of ice before the meal, problem solved. But recently they changed the bread to a softer bun, which is just not as nice and feels cheaper, and more like a low-end American fast food joint (think White Castle). But the absolute worst change recently is that they switched from delicious German style gherkins to sweet American pickles. This has essentially ruined the burger for me, so now I have started going to Bang Bang Burger instead. Absolute shame, cos I used to love this place and the burger used to be perfect. I used to tell people it was the best smashburger in Thailand and better than Shakeshack full-stop. Maybe these kind of things started happening because they opened another shop, who knows, but its the...
