I have been a customer for this izakaya longest of time. It was a quirky place with second floor via a narrow staircase. Half the fun was sitting upstairs and the decor was just what you’ll imagine in a Japanese drinking place! Posters adorn the walls and the wait staff were dressed in Japanese garb. So cute and adds to the atmosphere. And I haven’t even talked about the food yet. For the many times here, I’ve been ordering skewers or yakitori as the Japs called it. I liked the chicken skin, chicken buds and chicken tsukune (minced chicken). Today I tried the yakisoba. Nagiya was so generous with this dish that the ingredients (chicken, pork, cabbage, carrots, onions) were more than the noodle. As I have already ordered the yakitori sticks, I was quite annoyed with it because there were limited noodles. I have to sift through all that ingredient to be able to eat the soba. Well minor distraction… my wife ordered a cucumber fish cake and it was delicious and I dared not take a second piece as she was already complaining. Food here is the best Japanese cuisine I've had for ages, there's no doubt to that. Sashimi is as fresh as it can get, and other dishes are incredibly authentic. But I will never dine here again, ever. For almost a year, I came here almost everyday after work for lunch. And I witness the waitresses' attitude gets worse by each day. They won't work at all, they hole themselves on the second floor with each other, chating amoungst themselves, ignoring the dishes brought up to them from the kitchen.
