Fuji — Restaurant in Prachuap Khiri Khan Province

New Review January 2023:

On a recent shopping evening at Market Village, my daughter expressed a desire for "Katsu Curry".

We're a bit bored of Yayoi and the other options, so we decided to give Fuji another chance.

We ordered some salmon sushi and two types of rice ball "O-nigiri".

I selected the grilled "Saba" fish set.

My daughter had the Katsu Curry on rice, but I forgot to take a photo.

The Fuji Japanese food is unremarkable. In Bangkok, none of my Japanese friends eat at Fuji. Still, I can see its popularity with the Thai consumer and the "Farang" mass market.

This time, my Saba was well grilled. The set is good value.

That being said, there are better restaurants in Hua Hin town for Japanese cuisine and sushi dishes.

Our waitress was nice, but after taking our order, it took a long time for our drinks to arrive.

Compared to three years ago, I have raised my overall rating from two stars to three stars.

After the rennovations at Fuji Market Village, I had high hopes that the place would offer a better dining experience. I experienced unenthusiastic service, bland food and a slightly undercooked grilled saba fish. As far as value for money is concerned, there are other places in Hua Hin that offer a better deal for Japanese food. Many years ago in Bangkok, I felt that Fuji offered a reasonable facsimile of Japanese food at a reasonable price. I cannot say that about the Fuji Market...

We ordered three different sashimi (2px each )and asked to exchange the white pieces to one salmon and one tuna and we ordered all together for 1500. All by a sudden the manager came with our sashimi and had added saba instead of the order with one extra slice each of tuna and salmon. I told her, that was Not what we ordered. She told me she couldn’t Not serve as we ordered. I told her we have had that set up millions of times even at this restaurant. Ahe still could not exchange , so I decided to cancel the dinner and leave. I paid 22 Thb for The water . So instead of just take two pieces of sashimi and replace with one salmon and one tuna, they rather cancel a big order and probably had to throw food. We left and went to fuji Bluport, where we could our sashimi three Salmon and Three tuna. I hope they will change...
