My experience with Greenplace samet seahorse was bitter sweet. At one hand it's located on a beautiful beach, some of the staff are really nice and friendly (some can even scream at you during the breakfast). There was small bottled water, towels and toilet paper provided daily. Air condition units at decent condition. We stayed in standard room, with no big expectations after reading some of the previous reviews. The rooms are worn out and in most of them something is broken (we had a chance to be in four different rooms all together, with our family). The beds are not very comfortable. Hard and worn out in some of the rooms. In other rooms bit more decent (far away from great unless you like your mattress very hard).
Pillows were not usable for us as they were too big and too hard.
Rooms in general are small and dark.
What I don't like is how dense this "resort" is build. There is so many bungalows and rooms packed in small area that it feels almost claustrophobic. There is a lot of mess around.
The buffet breakfast (8-10am) is poor and not refilled often enough. The food isn't tasty and low quality. (If you say it is, apparently you don't know Thai cuisine and standards at all 🤷). Fire show as spectacular as they are, are leaving a horrible smell that will not let you properly relax during the day or evening.
Beach is beautiful.
So if you're looking for comfort, definitely don't choose a standard room. If you like crowded places, go for it! If you like a proper breakfast, look elsewhere.
I'm not coming back and wouldn't recommend it to my friends 😐 as I was expecting bit more for the price.
Coming back to staff most of them are really nice and helpful especially the gentleman from the photo (if the owner is reading this, he deserves a pay rise for being really helpful, always smiling and just the way you would expect when coming to Thailand)
And if it comes to that one guy who maybe had a bad day when he screamed at people during the breakfast. Please adjust your attitude because behavior like that is not acceptable!
Edit: Your response to my feedback speaks for itself 🤷 Just try to adjust and don't offend your costumers with a...
Read moreAmong the worse dining experiences I've had in southeast Asia. Definitely the worse lime juice in Asia : made from industrial artificial lime juice that tastes like dish-washing soap. The iced latte consisted in 200ml of milk with only about 5ml of coffee. The stir-fried noodles were "ok" but for only half a person or a very small eater. And the pork-noodles soup contained litteraly 5 noodles and 5 small pieces of pork hidden under a mountain of soy-beans sprouts and cabbage. To top it all, the waiter went on to dismiss our plates before we even finished our soup. Overall, only the setting is nice with its tables "feet in the water" but if you want to enjoy a good meal avoid at all costs.
Edit : 1 : If not artificial, the lime juice was definitely industrial and pasteurized, not fresh, it tasted like soap, which is a shame in southeast Asia. 2 : Latte should contain 20-30% coffee, not 5% maximum as it was, the drink was white instead of milky brown ! 3 : As said previously, the plate of noodles with beef was "ok" but very small, and the pork-noodles soup was indeed very generous in soy-beans sprouts and cabbage but not in pork and noodles... It should be called "Sprouts and cabbage soup with pork and noodles" instead of "Pork and...

For the cheapest place available during our 5 days trip, the service provided has been more than decent.
VERY GOOD WI-FI !
The room was nice, the staff helpful and some of them shared wonderful energy to me and my friend. (2 rooms)
We even had free breakfast because of a few hours electricity shut dow, caused by a tree that felt on the electricity lines.
The restaurant has good food, as well as other indépendant business 2 min from there with cheaper food for the ones on a budget.
The beach is the one with the most activities and good vibe from all the island.
While being next to this sometimes busy beach with properly balanced night life, the rooms are very quiet.
The laundry service has a fair price too, and got delivered to our doors, which is nice.
With the heat, I do like my bed like it was at the resort. The A/C worked as intended, and the night mode (silent) is indeed quiet.
The overall experience, comfort, entertainment for the price is...
