Orered for take-away. The famous restaurant for Pad Thai that invented the dish in 1939. I ate the Pad Thai with prawn oil and prawns and a bottle of their freshly squeezed orange juice. I highly recommend it. It's more expensive than most local Pad Thai restaurants, but worth it. Pad Thai was ฿150 UPDATE MAY 2024 I really love this place. I took my wife and her friend here after going to a local temple. There is always a wait to be seated and often a line-up outside, but the food and ambiance is worth it. The restaurant is beautifully decorated in Thai boran style and the air conditioning is perfect for hot Bangkok weather. The staff are smartly dressed like Maitre'D and speak Thai but most speak English as well. We ordered 3 pad thai shrimp wrapped in omelet, a Spring Roll assortment platter, one small orange juice, and a bottle of water. The small orange juice was enough to share between 3 people to have a full glass each. The price of the orange juice varies day-by-day according to market price, as it's freshly squeezed. The price on this day was 200 for a large bottle and 119 for a small bottle. The total for 3 people with the menu items noted was 880. A little expensive for thai food, compared to other local restaurants. But I will say that it was well worth it. It made me and the two Thai ladies I was with very happy. Great place for tourists and locals alike. I have eaten many Pad Thai all over Thailand and I will say that this was the best I've ever had.

The place is a legend is Bangkok, so just because of the history is worth to try. The menu is short, basically no more than 10 dishes all some kind of Pad Thai. You can ask for a vegetarian option or order their seafood ones. The portions are more “international” so check for it in case you are someone with small appetite. I am not into sweet main dishes but the authentic cuisine in Bangkok is quite sweet, so if you are like me, prepare yourself for some sweetness in all the options. The sweetness can be diminish by the use of chilli powder, lemon juice and fish sauce that you can find on the table. My recommendation is the signature dish with shrimps, it has crab meat as well so it balances the rest of the ingredients really nice. Beware also of the fact that the coconut signature drink is god but mega sweet so I recommend ordering an extra bottle of water to mix together so have it not so sweet. The payment is just in cash which is not so cool for tourists but hey, be aware of this and take cash with you.

After waiting for over an hour in the every expanding queue of people waiting outside for a table, the excitement of trying "the best Pad Thai" in Bangkok was overwhelming... The pre ordering of your meal while in the queue was intriguing but not very effective. Once inside, the vibe of this small 2 levelled restaurant was fantastic... The smell of pad thai filled the air as excited dinners muched away on their famous dishes. Ordered the vegetarian pad thai, not because I'm vegetarian but because I really don't like the little prawns that are infused with regular pad thai. The staff were super friendly & were Wai ing customers every time they serviced the table. My dish finally arrived... To my shock & and dismay, my vegetarian pad thai was ridiculously sweet. It didn't really taste as a traditional pad thai should. I have eaten candy with less sugar than my pad thai. Needed additional bottles of water to wash away the sugary after taste that was probably combined with large amounts of MSG. It was a fun experience, but sadly, this restaurant has become famous for being famous... Would I go back? Honestly, probably not as I have enjoyed much better & cheaper pad thai on numerous footpath restaurants in Bangkok.

We visited this restaurant because it's often hailed as one of the most recommended spots in Bangkok for Pad Thai, with the added prestige of being recognized by Michelin for its street food. The variety of Pad Thai options on the menu was impressive, and the flavors were generally good. However, I found the dish to be a bit too sweet for my taste. After trying other lesser-known spots around the city, I have to say that this place feels a bit overpriced for what it offers in terms of flavor. While the food is decent, it's not the best Pad Thai I’ve had in Bangkok. That said, the service here is top-notch—the staff are friendly and attentive, which made the experience more enjoyable. The restaurant itself is clean, well-maintained, and provides a comfortable atmosphere, making it a great place to relax for an extended period. However, both tourists and locals may find it quite expensive, especially given the range of affordable and equally tasty options elsewhere in the city. Overall, it’s a good place to try, but if you're looking for the best value for money, you might want to explore other options.
