Café Bamisi — Restaurant in Surat Thani Province

Delicious food and excellent service in this small, airy café in a quiet yard, just steps away from the main road and 3 minutes walk from the beach. All the Thai classics as well as western options are available. Of note are the many western breakfast options as well as German and Swiss classics such as Zürcher Geschnetzeltes (veal strips in a mushroom cream sauce). Will be back to try the western food. Be advised that this restaurant opens at 10am and is therefore not suitable for an early bird breakfast. Edit: came back and ate green curry and a Currywurst. Currywurst was close enough to the original to hit the spot. The green curry was the creamiest, most unctuous I have had so far, with all the right ingredients, including lots of mini eggplant (this is sometimes absent because of its relatively high cost). I learned that the coconut cream used for green curry is often diluted with water to save on food cost, resulting in a more watery dish. I have had plenty of these versions elsewhere in Thailand. Cheaper, less tasty and more prone to staining. Kudos to Café Bimisi for delivering high quality cuisine at reasonable prices. ...
