Pizza Del Sol — Restaurant in Surat Thani Province

So I’m going to leave an honest review as possible with a full explanation.

I went with my 78 year old mother, 6 & 9 year old step children.

We ordered a Bruschetta and 3 pizzas. Nothing unusual about this in a pizza restaurant.

However the Bruschetta came after 1 hour 20 minutes and the pizzas about 10 minutes later.

For full context the restaurant was ONLY half full, and while take out orders did happen it certainly wasn’t what I would consider busy.

We did question the time it was taking, and I don’t find the answer an acceptable answer. We were told that due to the over (wood fired) being constantly opened and closed for orders, that the heat wasn’t sufficient to cook pizzas in a timely manner due to so many being ordered.

Now being that this is primarily a pizza restaurant, I don’t find that to be an acceptable answer, and I do in fact have a friend who runs his own pizza business successfully in Norway and have NEVER seen this as an issue for him despite him working in an extremely busy place.

Now that said, once the food turned up it was really good, the pizzas where amazing, but the whole experience was dampened by the fact that we weren’t told how long the wait was not kept upto date at all during that time.

If indeed it is an issue, my advice is you need to tell people when they are seated, this is what a GOOD restaurant would do. Give the customer the choice of waiting not take it away from them. People have other plans and this can seriously affect a whole evening for many people.

In closing I would say the pizzas are probably the best I’ve had, certainly for a long time, but I wouldn’t have waited that long had I been given the choice. Not...
