Delicious food, good service and pleasant atmosphere. I would have given this restaurant the maximum 5 but for one personal criticism. I have lived on Samui for 10 years and eat in restaurants 4 or 5 times a week. On occasions I will drive 25k if the restaurant looks interesting on the internet. My criticism is of restaurants that either don’t display their menu on their web site (how do you make the decision to drive 25k) or provide exhaustive photographic displays on the internet of what is apparently their food offering but are not even on the menu when you get there. This is the case with La Cantine in Lamai. I travelled 12k having looked at countless food photographs on their website but no menu. On arriving the actual menu did not have a lot of the photographed items, one of which I particularly wanted (lamb shank). The staff was very friendly and polite even though he was struggling a bit, but he did good. I mentioned the red white checkered tablecloths just because they are absolutely spot on and actually makes a difference in the restaurant. The crepes are good, prices fair and even if it not looks like it's so much on the plate it for sure filled us up....
