MYTHAI BURGERS Chaloklum — Restaurant in Surat Thani Province

Judging from all the positive reviews, it's possible that I just got unlucky, but here it is anyway.

I wanted to get away from some mosquitos to sit and read on the couch in the guesthouse (which i'm pretty sure is under the same ownership as the restaurant) till the food was ready, but was somewhat rudely told by the staff that I couldn't use that couch and had to leave the area. This wasn't a dealbreaker, just a bit annoying.

I had the Siam, the first advertised burger, and thought the beef was just not of good quality and also soggy. The bigger problem though was that the pickled onions were so strong in taste and plentiful, that they took the flavor away from everything else. 4/10

The second item I had was the quesadilla, which, for some reason, took another 15 minutes longer to make than the burger, even though I was the only one in the place at about 2 PM (it was roughly Feb 18th in case the owner wants to do a check).

It was wrapped like a shawarma, had very little cheese, and was stuffed with super strongly marinated carrots. The total amount of carrots was more than the meat, cheese and other vegetables combined, but it was impossible to remove them as they got melted in and mixed with the cheese. 1/10 for the thrown away quesadilla, even though it's one of those foods which is really hard to screw up I think. I get that there might be a replacement chef or something, but the ingredients are listed right there on the menu for whoever is...

Update: the owners were very quick to respond to the feedback and desire to improve.

My review: these burgers were so hyped in the reviews I thought for sure it would be amazing. Got both a lamb burger and beef burger, totally sub-par meat quality, typical for Thailand, I’d be willing to bet these are from frozen patties, obviously not freshly ground beef.

The BBQ sauce wasn’t even close to a normal BBQ sauce should taste like. The bacon was so undercooked it had me concerned, should not see white fat I don’t think (at least I’ve never made my bacon burgers this way, and I’m from the land of burgers). So bland.

The bun was thick and rather hard, not as a nice spongy burger bun should be. 600 baht+ wasted. So disappointed. Especially considering the price paid. There are better burgers on the...

To be 100% honest I saw all the reviews and thought there was some sort of discount for a good review (because there is a few places that do this). But wooooow was I wrong, it’s just amazing - we had a beef Danish Blue and a lamb Truffle and both were seriously delicious - we left extremely happy. We also had mozzarella sticks, chilli cheese bites and chicken strips and they were all 10/10. Couldn’t recommend this...
