Swell — Restaurant in Surat Thani Province

Our evening at this eatery was a mix of highs and lows. Firstly, it's worth noting that the ambiance was slightly tainted by the presence of bugs. However, credit is due to the owners for promptly apologizing for the inconvenience.

Now, onto the food. The nachos with guacamole were truly the highlight of the culinary experience. They were undeniably some of the best I've ever had. Unfortunately, the main courses didn't quite live up to expectations.

The burger, while promising on paper, turned out to be rather dry, and the biggest letdown was the cold cheese. It seemed like the cheese had been taken straight from the fridge and placed inside the burger. Additionally, the flavor of the cheese itself was underwhelming.

As for the tacos, they also fell short of expectations. They lacked flavor punch, as if they were missing the right spices to fully bring out their taste.

In summary, while some dishes may provide a culinary delight, the restaurant needs to work on the consistency and quality of its main courses to ensure a cohesive and satisfying...

My husband and I LOVE this restaurant. They have a really great selection of western and Thai food and loads of vegan options. If you are vegan this is the place to go… tacos, thai dishes, chickpea salad sandwiches, bowls, there are loads of options and anything on the menu can be veganized. Even my non-vegan husband LOVED the cauliflower walnut taco “meat” and ordered it every visit during our month long stay in the area (so we ate here several times a week!). The margaritas are phenomenal. The chef is amazing and so kind (love his great big smile), the waitress is a doll, both speak excellent English. American owners are very friendly. Swell is the cutest little family-run beach bar and restaurant in Samui! The vibes great, the margs are delicious, their “choose your own adventure” style menu is so fun and full of tasty options 🌮
