Hands down one of the best places on the island for breakfast/brunch. 10 out of 10 for layout, staff friendliness, food quality, menu choice and, without exception, the location. The whole 'rear' of the establishment is open to beachfront with a completely unrestricted, 180 degree view of the surrounding islands. It is absolutely beautiful, on a typically clear day you can clearly see the Ang Thong chain on one side and of course Pha Ngan dead ahead. Even Tao. If you bring a laptop or book, good luck trying to concentrate; the emerald water is the kind you see on brochures advertising the S Thai islands. There's an enclosed portion with aircon if you can't take the heat/humidity, but the rest of the place is so open that there was usually an ocean breeze going right through the place. The food was outstanding. Indian cuisine is their specialty but there are other choices as well. Coffee was excellent. The owners work alongside the staff and are extremely hospitable. You absolutely cannot go wrong with this place. A perfect score on...
Read moreCOFFEESHOP (GOOD), INDIAN FOOD (BAD) The view is lovely, staff are nice and quick, coffees are good BUT the food was their downside. This coffeeshop is merged with 'Flavours of India' for food. They bring you food menu under the brand name 'flavours of India' and coffee menu under the brand name of 'Kathy's coffee'. My partner had coffee which was nice. I ordered food from their Indian food menu. I ordered Chicken Korma which I know what it's like and in the menu it says "mild" however it was way too spicy, and it didn't look like Korma at all. The paste was red and not creamy and i believe the paste was not homemade but ready bought. The peshwari bread was nice but once again not very much peshwari as the inside was not filled but stuff was put on the top,...
Read morethe setting and coffee are great but the food is super disappointing. We came twice not realising Kathys coffee is the same place we visited for dinner at the indian restaurant. Both times both meals were bad. My breakfast, eggs benedict was cold and inedible even though we waited 25 minutes for it. The bacon was old, tiny, deep fried bits of rind and looked nothing like the menu. the veggie sandwich with avocado had no avocado in it and the toasted bread was old and cold - even though we came just after opening. Only visit for a coffee otherwise you will feel sick all day...
