The Garden — Restaurant in Surat Thani Province

Wow, best Western food I had in a long time! I usually avoid western style restaurants when in SE Asia, but a friend recommended to go here. We were a group of six, we had Bruschetta for starters, the cold one with fresh tomatos, parsley, garlic and onions as well as the hot one with tomato sauce, cheese and pesto - the pesto fresh and home made simply delicious. As mains we had the duck breast, a tartar, t-bone steak, the tenderloin beef filet Rossini (meaning topped with fois gras) and a pizza chorizo. What do we say... it was all perfectly created, steaks on point, tartar well seasoned with the best beef, pizza crispy. For desert we had creme brulee, floating island (île flottante for our French people) and profiterole. Again, they delivered! The profiterole is filled with vanilla ice cream, which is a good change in a hot country like this. The ambience is great, the only minus is the noisy main road due to the location. Food is not up to standards considering it’s a 4.7 average rating. I got myself a Mexican burger and an American panini. The fries that came with them were very soggy and oily. The Mexican burger had an excessive amount of guac (fortunately I didn’t mind it). The issue was the panini. The sandwich had 1 burger patty cut in half and put on in between 2 slightly overcooked panini slices. The cheese was melted to the one side, not covering much of the meat inside. At least the tomatoes covered the patty. Furthermore, the beef tartare had a strong vinaigrette taste. Absolutely loved the restaurant and the food! The pizza is great, so far me and my partner have been twice and the food has been high quality and delicious! The service is good and the restaurant is usually not busy. We will be coming back for sure!

Edit: been 5 times now and every single time we have had a really good experience, we will miss coming here since the food is always so good and consistent. You can tell everything is freshly made even the bread. The restaurant is always super clean and well cared for. I’d highly recommend...
