Sudarat Thai & Esan food — Restaurant in Surat Thani Province

I had been shooed away from one restaurant by the owner ( I was solo and i think they prioritise serving groups ). I found another place for dinner, but was very dismissively served and felt unwelcomed. I wondered past this place on my way home and was greeted with smiles. I stopped in for the best mango sticky rice I've had so far, freshly made and served with a generous side of coconut sauce!! I visited a few days later, again greeted with the same smiles, and had a delicious tom yum soup (medium spice was fine for me, but I think spicier wouldn't be too much if you prefer it). Would definitely recommend as a place to try...

Next to the road, that's why I choose this restaurant without reading a review. I ordered Chili Paste Fried Rice with pork (150THB ), overpriced without any justification and too oily. Tom yum is too salty ( I ordered Tom Yum seafood but they did Mixed Tom yum) Don't recommend. Would definitely not return!

Stopped by because it was conveniently across the street from my hostel and had a decent meal. I got the pad Thai with chicken and although it wasn’t the best pad Thai I’ve had it certainly got the job done for a decent price point of 100 baht. Also had the papaya salad which was good as well.
