CatNip Cafe - Since 2010 — Restaurant in Thung Wat Don Subdistrict

The space is a bit tiny and messy as well, the smell is of course very cat-ish. But hey, the drinks are good and the cats are very cute! During my stay most of them were asleep and the ones that weren't didn't seem that glad to be petted (or maybe they didn't like me?!). Thankfully I was able to pet the cats either way for quite a bit, which was very relaxing. They're fluffy and very adorable. My favourite was the white cat because it seemed so peaceful. There weren't many people during my stay here although I assume that during busy times it could get crowded. Moreover the owner seems to care very much about the cats and the cats seem to like him very much as well. The first time we tried to visit we arrived to discover the cafe totally shut, despite arriving 15 minutes after the advertised opening time. A few weeks later we decided to give the cafe another try. I called just before 11am to ask if they would be open that day, the owner said yes they would be open, but a little late, around 11.30am. When we arrived at 12.15pm they were still closed. Upon phoning again the owner asked me to wait 15 minutes as he was on his way back from the vets. I advise you to phone ahead before visiting as it seems the advertised times are not reliable.

There is no proper food at the cafe, just drinks and cake, but the quality was good and the price...

I have visited cat cafe's in Bangkok on previous visits to the city, but none of them compare to CatNip Cafe. The owner is a very friendly guy who makes you feel very welcome and comfortable. The cats roam freely around the spacious cafe and have numerous toys for you to interact with them. The cafe is cosy, with relaxing sofas, bar style seating and outdoor tables too! It is also a very green cafe, surrounded with trees, bushes, plants, flowers and even a pond! As the owner is very fond of the outdoors and nature. A wide selection of delicious drinks both hot and cold to choose from. An absolute MUST visit place if you're in BKK and are looking to relax for a few hours. I❤CatNip...
