Southern Thai Cuisine Restaurant with Michelin 2019-2022🎖So satisfying! Each dish had its own character and delectable flavor! I surprisingly finished up double of my usual rice portion here. While normally we would pick our own favorite dish after the meal, yet damnnn it’s really hard this time💗 love them all!
What we ordered: 🥗 ยำยุ้งข้าวหอม (150THB) 🤩 : Pomelo salad with crispy squid and fish crackers 💬 tons of texture in just a bite. Pomelo popped in your mouth made this dish so refreshing, adding with เมี่ยงคำ (Wild betal leaf wrap) kinda ingredients aftertaste.
🍤 ชะอมผัดไข่เค็มกุ้งสด (250THB) 🤩 : Stir-fried acacia with salted eggs and white prawns 💬 There’s sth in this dish that made it different from other places. Maybe it’s the savoriness of the salted eggs and acacia leaves combined with perfect cook timing and temperature.
🦪 โอวต้าว (180THB) 🤩 : Phuket fried oyster and taro with pork crackling (o-tao) 💬 This was beyond our expectations! It’s simlar to หอยทอด (Oyster omelette), but topping up with cube taro, fried garlic and that magic sweet spicy sauce💋 muah!
🦑 ปลาหมึกผักน้ำดำ (235THB) : Stir-fried squid with black ink 💬 Had no clue how it would taste like at first and thought it might be sweet(?). But what a savory and rich dish it was! those tastes of dried lemongrass&kaffir lime leaves, sliced red chili pepper, fresh squid and its black ink all together 💥
🐖 หมูผัดกะปิ (220THB) : Stir-fried pork with shrimp paste 💬 The taste was a bit similar to หมูหวานผสมข้าวคลุกกะปิ (Caramelized pork mixed with shrimp paste), but more mouth-watering and not sweet.
🍖 แกงคั่วกระดูกหมูใบยี่หร่า (250THB) : Pork ribs southern curry with wild basil leaves 💬 The most hot and tangy curry ever everrrr! The pork ribs were veryyyyyyy rich and tender.
🥥 ขนมโคน้ำกะทิ (120THB) : Coconut dumpling in sweet coconut milk 💬You can skip this if you’re looking for less sweetened desserts. But a sweet coconut filling lover (like me🙋🏻♀️) should give it a try~...
Read moreI recently visited a one star Michelin Thai southern food restaurant and was left with mixed feelings. While the service was decent and the ambiance was pleasant, I found the food to be somewhat modified for a western palate. While it was certainly delicious, I couldn't help but feel like there was a lack of authenticity. On the plus side, the dishes were perfectly cooked, with a soft touch that made everything easy to eat. However, I would have liked to see more traditional Thai flavors and spices included in the dishes. Overall, while I enjoyed my meal, I was left wishing for a more...
Read moreSeeing other reviews, I have high expectations, and to be honest, I was a bit disappointed. The foods are generally ok. But that's about it, just ok. Nothing spectacular and extraordinary. The deep-fried pork belly is 85% fat. The coconut soup with bamboo shoots is bland. The chili paste with vegetables is not spicy at all and not that flavorful. The stir-fried pumpkin is the only dish that is decent. Moreover, the portion size is so small that you would need to order a few more dishes than you would have ordered in other restaurants. The service was fantastic with very...
