Bahn Phloen Dee Restaurant. Consistently very tasty and well presented Thai food in a sheltered open-air, rustic canal-side location. Friendly and charming staff. Hard to find, and by car is entered through Wat Nak Klang temple (via Soi Itsaarapap 42 also known as Soi Arun Amarin 13). In the temple, follow the road right, left and left again. Parking is tight but rarely a problem. If on foot, follow the narrow westward alley just south of the bridge over Khlong Mon on Arun Amarin Road. Very popular with the Royal Thai Navy being right on their doorstep. Tour guides sometimes bring small groups of European tourists here by boat. Prices are the cheapest in town. Large bottle of beer 75 to 100 baht. Eat a banquet and drink your fill for about 500-700 baht a head. No need to book. Look out for the family of enormous monitor lizards that live...
