Ton Son Jami Mosque Wat Arun — Attraction in Wat Arun Subdistrict

If you visit Way Arun in Bangkok, this historical mosque is worth a visit. From Wat Arun, you can search the route in Google Maps and follow it by walking for about 15 minutes. The location is a little bit hidden, in the corner at the end of the street under the fly over. The building looks old but magnificent. Too bad. I couldn't go in the last time I went there. Toilets are available at the back side of the area. Free drinking water can also be found. You can take a rest in a small open building with chairs and table. Just right in front of the mosque, you can find some halal food stalls. I guess they are open late in the afternoon or evening because when I got there at noon, these stalls are closed. If you're visiting Wat Arun, don't miss this nearby mosque, just a 7-minute walk under the bridge. I had the chance to pray Zohar here, and Alhumdulillah, the environment both inside and outside the masjid was very peaceful.

This mosque holds historical significance as well and offers separate arrangements for female prayers. It's a great place to take a quick break from the touristic atmosphere of Wat Arun.

A beautiful mosque with a rich history, being one of the oldest in Bangkok. The architecture is stunning, both inside and out, and the place is very clean and well-maintained. The atmosphere is peaceful and welcoming. The imam was incredibly kind and hospitable. He gave me a short tour and explained some of the mosque’s history. I was also able to fulfill some of my zakat obligations here.
