Hott Shoppe — Restaurant in Port of Spain

My only complaint is that the Paratha is usually a bit on the hard and dry side. Still good but not great paratha (buss up shot). Everything else tasted awesome. Good customer service, and considering the crowd that was there the service was also quite fast. I LOVE that they open late, till 9pm. This is the latest of all the legitimate roti shops I know in the west (not counting street vendors in Woodbrook and St. James). Also, the food is very neatly packaged and covered, big bonus points for this!!! See attached picture. That is extra curry sauce in the back container, this is standard!!! This picture I had curry chicken, dhal, potato and paratha. Paid 5 or 6 dollars more for extra chicken. Note that Don's roti shop does not allow you to buy extra meat with your order, smh. Big "X" for Don's! I've read other reviews of Hott Shoppe so I made sure to go a few times before writing my own review. Hott Shoppe is definitely overall my personal favourite roti shop in the west!!! Food, service, location, parking etc... all top notch, in the realm...

Okay so I am aware that the day I visited this roti shop was a public holiday, but I am thinking if they were not ready to handle the increased customer traffic then they should not have opened for business on that day.

First I want to say that the curry 🥘 was absolutely delicious and tasty as it always is and I was not in any way disappointed with the roti which both my foreign guests and I thoroughly enjoyed.

Why must I wait over an hour for three roti? Why could I not have been advised of the wait before I checked out at the cashier so that I would have had a choice as to whether I was willing to wait that long? Why advertise certain sides and then after waiting more than an hour I was told that they "ran out"? Why wasn't there anyone to provide answers when customers asked about the lengthy wait? Why was there not an attempt by any staff member to provide customers with information about why we were waiting so long on our orders?

Absolutely poor service all around for such fine tasting...

Around for more than three decades, Hott Shoppe is renowned for their soft roti skins and tasty curry. Everything on the menu is worth a try. Add Mango to give it a fruity twist.

Sizes include a mini.... ideal for those who only eat 6 oz meals....regular for the 12-14 oz experience. Not sure you like the idea of everything in one large wrap? Then buy a boxed lunch where all the same ingredients are set apart and give you the opportunity to taste each individual option ordered.

My favourite option is to order one beef mini and one boneless chicken mini with mango and slight pepper with a Red Solo soda.

Don't worry if you don't receive cutlery... this roti is finger...
