Saint Tropez, La Marsa — Restaurant in Tunis

This place has a lot going for it: it’s beautiful and has good food and coffee. And it has gluten free cake!

However, the service is poor, and there seems to be a lack of expertise in coffee and taking orders. For example, they served a very hot drink in a plastic cup for takeaway. It was too hot to carry, and I couldn’t drink it. They also don’t understand Arabic or English, or at least they refuse to speak Arabic and they don’t understand the English orders when given.

This is probably a good place to go if you’re French and snobby.

Edit: having come here for a year now, I'm updating my review to 5 stars. The service has improved A LOT, and it's one of the few places in Marsa where I feel very calm and well taken care of. The prices are high, but the up side of that is that it's not swarmed by teenagers like nearby cafes. Cute place Good location Excellent service We had an issue with the food (burata was not ok) and they immediately took it back and apologized. We have a restaurant in Cayman and we can tell when someone really goes out of their way to provide the best in all they do.

From the moment we arrived we were welcomed by one of the boys with a beautiful smile! We were seated far from the smokers - which is the habit in Tunis - and were given a tablet menu. The options are more for snack or breakfast but not bad. The goal was to just spend some time away from the touristic places... and it was worthy. Zack came to great us and recommended a few places for music/ dancing engaging in a pleasant conversation.
