The Gate Lounge Cafe & Restaurant — Restaurant in Tunis

The atmosphere of the place is not bad. The gate is spacious and has a great view on the lake. However, we had to wait for over 45 minutes to get the order (at night but in the middle of the week), the waiter was rude to us and to other tables as well. Some people had to leave the place. The food did not taste good and some of it was raw! I gave the restaurant a second chance, and went there again (morning on a weekend), waiter gave me a wrong check and demanded to be paid (it was not what we ordered). After settling the matter, a family sitting nearby told us that he did the same thing to other customers before us and tried to make a scene if not getting paid correctly. If there is one thing I know, is that I'm never going back to that...

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Café Lounge The Gate, located in the picturesque lake area in the heart of Tunis city. I enjoyed a delicious breakfast set that included a delightful omelette, a wide variety of cheeses, and fresh bread.

The meal was complemented perfectly by a nice coffee crème and refreshing strawberry juice. The atmosphere was pleasant, making it a great spot to start the day.

The serivants are toxic! The service is horrible. Here is how it went: Were were there to chill for ~1h. We chose our seats. Unfortunayely the music in the whole area was very loud, unconvenient for chatting. We asked to reduce the volume, we actually asked multiple times and they did not reduce the volume. Our order came on tume. But the cups were visibly dirty, the spoons were that dirty that we had to scrub the dirt from them. Conclusion made that we finish our food and leave asap, with no tips.
