Tucked away in the vibrant streets of Istanbul, Durum Bistro is a hidden gem for those who appreciate authentic Turkish flavors with a modern twist. This kebab-focused eatery manages to strike the perfect balance between tradition and creativity, making it a must-visit spot for both locals and tourists seeking a genuine culinary experience.
Upon entering Durum Bistro, I was immediately struck by its warm ambiance. The decor is minimalist yet charming, with rustic wood tables and walls adorned with subtle, traditional Turkish motifs. It’s a comfortable, relaxed setting that allows you to fully immerse yourself in the flavors about to be served.
The menu at Durum Bistro is straightforward, emphasizing the quality of its ingredients and simplicity of its dishes. I opted for the classic lamb kebab dürüm, served with fresh herbs and a side of homemade yogurt sauce. The lamb was expertly grilled—succulent and tender, with a smoky flavor that only a well-crafted kebab can deliver. The flatbread was soft and lightly toasted, creating the perfect vessel for the lamb. The dish is accompanied by fresh vegetables and flavorful sauces that tie everything together.
While Durum Bistro excels at delivering quality kebabs, it’s worth noting that the service, though friendly, can be a bit slow during peak hours. However, the staff is courteous and eager to ensure a pleasant dining experience, which more than makes up for any minor delays.
In terms of pricing, Durum Bistro offers excellent value for money, especially given the quality of the ingredients and the generous portion sizes. It’s the perfect spot for a casual lunch or dinner, particularly if you’re looking to savor Istanbul’s iconic kebabs in a setting that feels both authentic and contemporary.
Overall, Durum Bistro earns a solid four stars. It’s an excellent choice for anyone looking to enjoy a genuine taste of Turkish kebabs, and I would certainly recommend it to others exploring Istanbul’s culinary scene.
Durum Bistro
Durum Bistro
Read moreVisited this restaurant because of another Google recommendation and it's exactly as they stated. Popped in for dinner while the restaurant was empty. The lone worker was very friendly and hospitable. After we placed our order, he treated my partner and I to tea TWICE during our meal. When the owner showed up later he treated us to some lovely pomegranate slices.
We ordered chicken shish wrap, fries and fried ice cream. All of which was fine. The wrap was made up of all fresh ingredients. Fries had some sort of seasoned salt (my partner was a big fan). The worker put in effort when presenting the fried ice cream - made for a fun video.
We'd return for the service alone. Would probably try one of the mix grills next time. Definitely worth popping in if you're...
Read moreDisappointing. We went because of the reviews. Don’t fall in the same trap. Food was nothing special. They took advantage of us because we were tourists and charged us for a more expensive dish while giving us a wrap and a small portion of fries for the price of two portions. The menu said that the fries costed 160 TRY and they charged us 200 TRY for each portion justifying the amount was bigger which wasn’t in reality. The Adana kebab was supposed to be 250 TRy while they charged 400 TRY giving the same reason that they gave for the fries. If you still decide to go to this place be aware of showing exactly what you would like to have in the menu and make sure they charge the correct amount. Even better if you...
