Horrible experience. We were sexually harassed. I was at the Hammam for the last hour of the day with five of my girl friends. All of the female employees had already left. The male staff members took advantage of the situation and came into the part of the Hammam that has a sign on top that says "Ladies Only" three times to see us undressed. We were sexually harassed, our privacy was violated and we felt so unsafe. The manager did nothing about this when we brought it to our attention. Extremely unacceptable and blatant sexual harassment. This establishment should be shut down. The owner is now commenting on my post saying that we were in the common area, this is 100% a lie. The men entered the Hammam area that is for showering, no the common area.

The Galatasaray Bath is a historical place in Istanbul, Turkey, built in 1481. It is one of the few structures from the Ottoman era that still stands today. The bath has been restored and preserved to its original form, and is now open to the public. The Galatasaray Bath is a great place to visit for anyone interested in history and architecture. The building is stunningly beautiful, with its intricate designs and intricate carvings. It is also a great place to learn about Turkish culture and history. There is a museum inside the building, as well as a cafe and a small shop. Visitors can also enjoy some of the spa treatments offered at the bath. Overall, the Galatasaray Bath is a great place to visit and to learn about the rich history of Istanbul.

We visited this historical Turkish bath, and while the building is nice to see, the service is extremely poor for the price. They charge 5200 TL upfront and don’t accept credit cards to avoid fees. ($150 USD per person for full service) Despite paying for the full service, we were told that the foam and oil massages are the same, so they only provided the foam massage, ignoring our request for both!!! The materials used were also subpar—worn-out slippers, cheap disposable XL underwear, and low-quality shampoo. I recommend paying for the basic entry just to see the building. The full service is not worth it.

This place is an absolute sham & worthless. Please do not waste your money or time here.

I booked this place in the morning so that i would be secured of my reservation for an evening appointment. When i went in for the reservation, the host (Ahmed) (I think he is the owner) was very warm and welcoming and full of smiles. He encouraged me to take the package that costed 265 TL, mentioning that that one included the traditional scrub. I fell into his words & booked myself for one. He insisted that i pay the full amount in cash as an advance & in return he gave me a small chit - like the one generated from a credit card machine.

When i returned back in the evening at the time of my appointment, his behavior had completely changed. He was very stone faced and didnt seem to have any memory of my morning conversations with him. He insisted that i show him the small chit, which to my luck, i had preserved in my wallet.

After this 'unfriendly welcome' i was ushered in a small cabin and provided with a towel to wrap around, while leaving my clothes and other belongings in the cabin, I was provided a key to the cabin that could be locked. Post this i was accompanied to a large room that was full of steam and told to sit over there. The person who accompanied added that the service would begin in 5 minutes. However even after waiting for 15 minutes, no one arrived & therefore i had no option to go back out and have someone attend upon me.

The actual service started after this and the person started with pouring buckets of warm water over me. Subsequently i was asked to sleep on the marble platform, where he massaged me with soap. The massage was unusually hard and uncomfortable and even though i told the masseur to make it with lighter intensity, he wouldn't understand. Anyways, this 'torture' lasted only 5 minutes post which i was again taken back to the marble buckets for the so called famous 'scrub'. The scrub lasted about 90 seconds and was over and done even before i realized!

After this once again i was poured upon with a few buckets of warm water & told to go and have a cold shower. That's it, that was the end of the 'service'. from end to end it lasted about 40 minutes (from me stepping into the place until stepping out) and the actual massage + scrub must have lasted about 7-10 minutes.

I must also mention that the staff here were very intimidating - to the point that they wanted me to say that i liked the service - probably would have liked to follow it up with a tip. However i let them know that i wasn't happy at all & left without tipping.

Please do not waste your time and money on this place. The Aga Hamami in the same neighborhood had much better reviews....

I just had the most terrible experience in this Hamam this afternoon. It was a smelly and dirty place with a horrible service .They told me of 200 TL for bath+massage+foaming. However, after I got changed and they left me all alone in a small and messy bath room. The bath room is made from marble but very smelly and messy. It's my 1st experience with Turkish bath and I did not know what to do. The older woman left me in the bath room and not came back for 15 minutes. The room was so small with some buckets, towels and other stuff left in the corner. The marble in the middle was not a traditional marble but just an ordinary table with a marble bench top. 15 minutes later, I had to walk out with a wet body to ask the old man (maybe the owner) what should I do. He told me that 200 TL just for a self-service ( could not really understand his English). Then I told him that I didn't know what to do with the self-service. Then he told me another extra 30 TL for the scrub. I was wet and uncomfortable. All I wanted was to finish the bath. So I said YES to him. Another 8 minutes later, a woman came in. She took a scrub glove from a wet area and started to scrub my body. A couple of minutes, she took a cloth bag and picked a dirty blue basin from a corner - started making bubbles. There was no single massage. It took no more than 10 minutes from scrubbing to bubble/foaming the bath. After the bubble, she asked me to sit on the floor and asked me to wash on my own from pouring water through a bucket. And then she left the bath room and left me a lone there. I was wet and naked. I needed a towel to dry. Another old woman walked in with another customer. She pointed a pink tower at the corner of the bath. I did not know wether or not it's clean. All I wanted was to dry myself and got out of the place as soon as I could. Then I wrapped myself with a used tower, and had to walk the stairs to the 3rd floor. I got into a small change room and wanted to cry from the entire awful experience. After I got changed and stepped out of the change room, the lady who scrubbed and bubbled me so quickly even asked me to give her tips. It was just UNBELIEVABLE...!! Of course, I did not give tips. I even could not wait to dry my hair and wanted to leave this horrible place as soon as I could. 230 TL for this horrible experience is a complete rippe off. I would rather to pay 350-400 TL for a proper Turkish bath in a more reputable harman rather than this. The owners and staff in this bath have no shame about the price and service they charge from visitors. It's appalling. DO NO EVER...

Stay away! Traumatising. I went with a friend who had previously had a nice experience at this hamam, and as the prices were friendlier than other more boujie hamams, we opted for this being a v historical spa. They were vague about the timings of how long you got in the sauna (20min) and the treatments (20min) and that you could relax and have tea etc. - red flag. The staff spoke little English and didn't seem bothered by whether they had our business or not, just led us around without instruction. We were taken to the bath/sauna which was actually mixed gender, and there was already a woman (in bikini) getting a scrub by a man (cloth about his waist) on the hot rock which was very disturbing as I couldn't tell if they were a couple/she had a male employee giving her treatment which I was not down for/it was a happy ending scenario- all in all hellish, not relaxing and my friend and I just laughed the whole time while lying there with our towels on. The female employees came in after probably 10 min and took us into another wet room to do the scrubs/foam baths. We were asked if we wanted additional soap massage and I knew it was going to be at extra cost so I said no. It was all very rushed and rough, not very relaxing and also very short, then it was all over and I was getting dressed again- entire time in the building 40 min max. Very confusing. A big tour group arrived at that time and my friend and I agreed we felt TRAUMATISED and so left. The bar menu we noticed on the way out had tea and other drinks at additional cost, and we were going to complain/try to get some money back but literally no one came to the...
