Read moreWe did a couples massage and hamam. I get 3-4 massages a year and I never experienced anything as bad and uncomfortable as this massage.
When we got to the massage room, it was so tiny and you barely could fit between the two massage tables. The masseuse came in and told me to take my bikini top off but she didn’t give me any privacy, anyways I took it off and the massage started. The masseuses climbed on top of the bed, they were on top of my husband and I, haven’t seen it done this way before. The massage was a mix between chiropractic adjustments and beating, it was so painful and my back was hurting for the next 3 days (we asked for a medium pressure). The headrest was rock hard that it gave you a headache.
Now, moving on to the hamam. I never had Turkish bath before but I got a body scrub in the US. The Turkish bath, they took a loofa and scrubbed us like I would scrub myself in the shower, the scrubbing part was under 10 minutes. Then they washed us with warm water, this part was nice. When I did the body scrub in the US, they scrubbed over an hour and removed years worth of dead skin… I was expecting something similar. I don’t know if we got a bad hamam or if that how Turkish hamams are usually done.
Positives: clean facilities, nice sauna and steam room,...
