I had the absolute pleasure of dining at Punjab Istanbul Indian Pakistani Restaurant, and I must say, it was one of the best experiences I’ve ever had in Istanbul. From the moment we entered, we were welcomed with genuine warmth and hospitality. The staff made us feel like family, and the service was outstanding.
A special mention goes to Ehsan, the owner’s son. He was truly amazing – kind, attentive, and went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. His hospitality was unmatched, and it really made our experience memorable. The owner and his wife were equally welcoming, treating us like honored guests rather than just customers. Their humble and friendly nature added such a beautiful personal touch to our visit.
Now coming to the food – absolutely top notch! Every single dish we tried was bursting with authentic flavors. The Biryani was phenomenal – aromatic, rich in spices, and perfectly cooked, easily the best I’ve had outside of Pakistan. The Chicken Chargha was another highlight – crispy, juicy, and packed with flavor. Each bite reminded me of true Pakistani home-style cooking. Honestly, you can never find a better place than this in Istanbul if you are craving authentic Indian or Pakistani food.
The atmosphere of the restaurant was cozy and welcoming, perfect for families, friends, or even solo diners who just want to enjoy quality food in a relaxed environment.
I would highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Istanbul. If you’re looking for delicious, authentic Pakistani and Indian food along with exceptional hospitality, Punjab Istanbul Indian Pakistani Restaurant is the place to go. Truly, it deserves to be called a...
Read moreI came here with high expectations but I was extremely let down. The servers all seemed confused and distracted today. I ordered appetizer and it came 30-40 mins late, and after a few times of asking for it. The server seemed to have forgotten to place my order for it when I first ordered it. And even if I were to let that go as an accident, the continued carelessness of the servers added to our terrible experience. No cutlery was brought to our table. We had to ask for a fork two times. As I said, the servers were lost and dazed the entire time.
Moving on to food, we ordered a chicken kebab masala and a butter chicken. The chicken kebab masala was just disgusting. It was some stale suspicious meat that tasted nothing like chicken. Half the plate was oil, very little kebab and curry, and no peppers, tomato, onion - nothing diced in it at all. The butter chicken was terrible as well. The only decent thing about the restaurant was their veg pakoras. You've lost 2 eager customers. I hope your service and chef improves so the dishes on your menu are...
Read moreHad a very pleasant dinner here and ordered the butter chicken, vegetable soup, and chai. Hadi, the staff, checked on me diligently and had precise questioning to determine my desired spiciness level. Was given extra yogurt to find desired thickness of my butter curry as well, I enjoyed the extra attention to give me autonomy.
I had just came from a 23 days hike, from the Balkans and the Lycian Way, and havent had any semblance of curry during that period. I needed some soul food and at a specific hit, this place got me my feeling.
Get there slightly before 5:20pm to catch the setting sun on you when you sit outside. It was the best feeling ever as I had curry while I finished Stepmother Earth, a book that wrote about war and its distance to the lives of villagers, it was also a love story that refines the line between civility and humanity.
