During my two-week vacation in Turkey, I had the pleasure of visiting Emre Restaurant in Kas twice, and it was an unforgettable experience! This little local family-run restaurant offers the most delicious homemade Turkish foods and a (honest) warm, welcoming atmosphere. It’s better to go for lunch, or for dinner if you can make it before 8:30 PM, as everything tends to be finished if you go late. I visited for both lunch and dinner, and lunch is definitely the best time to enjoy the full range of their delicious offerings. They should just maybe consider offering bigger portions. The restaurant is run by a lovely family: the mother and father, who cook alongside their oldest son, two sons (the restaurant is named after the youngest brother), and their daughter, Dilay. Additionally, two other wonderful people, Ramazan and Kadir, work there. I tried about 7-8 different dishes, and each one was incredibly delicious. This restaurant is a must-visit if you want to taste authentic Turkish cuisine and experience a great meal. For me, it’s not just about having delicious food in a luxury setting; it’s about the experience and the people. I especially enjoyed the company of Dilay, Ramazan, and Kadir, who are some of the kindest people on earth. Their smiles and company made my visits truly special. Love you guys, and I hope to see you again!
P.S. The food is reasonably priced, around 180 lira for a meal, but I ordered a variety of dishes. You can also order different things in one portion, which I found to be a great way to sample more...

Read moreWe’ve been in Turkey for more than a week, and Emre Restaurant was our favorite dining experience so far. It felt authentically Turkish, yet welcoming to two non-Turkish speaking foreigners. Instead of a menu, we were asked to choose from several pots and casseroles inside, with help and advice from a friendly English speaking waitress and an enthusiastic chef. We chose chicken roasted with potatoes, onions and oregano, eggplant stew with ground meat, stuffed peppers, beans, and tzatziki (yogurt with cucumber, garlic and mint). It was more than enough for two, and with a soda and sparking water, the bill came to less than $20 US....
