Zeugma Restorant — Restaurant in Kaş

GREAT FOOD & FAIR PRICES! We have eaten here several times, first during a 2-week stay in Kalkan in 2024 and right now this year during another visit to Kalkan. It's a peaceful haven of excellent Turkish fare coupled with a friendly and attentive welcome. The prices are fair and honest, unlike nearly all the other restaurants in Kalkan, which seem to have set their cuisine and prices according to UK tastes and tolerances, and are mostly populated by British tourists. Till my visit last year I hadn't travelled in this area for more than 20 years and was shocked by the prices in general in Kalkan. Having said this I have spent time in Alanya and vicinity on 2 separate trips in the last 2 years and inflation has not reached such dizzy heights there! But the Zeugma is a refreshing change; the quality is excellent and it's a place Turkish people can afford too as they usually make up the majority of the customers. The average Turkish worker has been priced out of the market in most other Kalkan establishments, where the menu is focused on western European cuisine and the prices are high for Turkey, sometimes even more than I would pay in the UK, which doesn't make sense in a country where the minimum wage is a pittance compared to the UK. The food we've eaten here has always been delicious; main courses come with the complimentary traditional starter of freshly cooked sesame seed balloon bread (sometimes called lavas in other regions) with tasty dips, almost a meal in itself! The Zeugma welcome is always heartfelt and sincere, the best of Turkish hospitality. Run by a couple from Gazi Antep, Feride and Abdullah (who has a mischievous sense of humour akin to our own), with help from son Mustafa amongst others. Daughter Tuana likes to try out her English when she meets with encouragement and is charming, as is her little sister. A lovely family and a lovely place to eat and relax away from the hype. We just dined there today for a late lunch and I got to say the person who helped us order is just wonderful! He is sincere and polite and kind, and the food tastes really good too. Other stuff who work there and brought our food back and helped us pack leftovers are nice and friendly as well! Even though they don’t speak English (the person who helped me order can speak English fluently so you have no problem order there) The price is great, and in the end, our server is also very kind to help me exchange some small amount euro to lira. First time in Turkey however I'm used to Turkish food in UK, one of my favourite. But honestly this restaurant food is sooo tasty, it's another level my goodness it was one whole week of food from Even. I didn't wanna try any other place in the area because I fell in love with Zeugma's quality of food.
