SALAŞ BALIK & RESTORANT — Restaurant in Konyaaltı

I cannot say enough about this restaurant, their food or service. I came to Antalya with a singular purpose - To find and eat the best seafood. To this end, I trekked up and down the coast line, explored every "hidden gem" (my wife is Turkish, so rest assured that we did plenty of research) and ate exclusively at highly rated/recommended seafood. I was happy to stretch my budget in my pursuit. A day before I was due to fly back, I happened upon this restaurant. I struggle to find the right words to describe the experience but I will try.

Price Ridiculously reasonable even with the current economic crisis and the struggling lira. Most restaurants profess to sell by weight but there is no scale in sight. Salaş is the ONLY one that had one. We were able to pick, weigh and ask for the food to be cooked the way we wanted.

Service With a smile and the warmth that money can't buy. The servers are attentive, knowledgeable and even showered us with complimentary drinks and desserts. I must say that the experience felt genuine and is one I will remember for a long time.

Food I come from the coastal Southern India and if there's one thing I know, it's fish. We got the grouper, jumbo prawns and sole. The mezze alone was incredible and I would have been satisfied to call it a meal just with that. The grouper was cooked in a delicious stew (terletme) with garlic confit, butter and olive oil. The fish was tender and succulent, cooked to perfection. The prawns were grilled and served with a hot butter sauce. We also opted for the sole to be grilled (as recommended) and it was truly a meal fit for a king.

Overall, this is food, service and an experience I will always associate with Turkey and it's warm people, wonderful cuisine and breathtaking scenery.

Salas Balik is easily one of the best restaurants in town when it comes to Turkish cuisine. The food is absolutely delicious, with dishes that are prepared with care and attention to detail. The owner of the restaurant is incredibly generous, always ready to share his knowledge of Turkish cuisine with anyone who is interested. He clearly takes great pride in his establishment, and it shows in the quality of the food and the service provided.
