Jan De Wit Restaurant — Restaurant in Marmaris

On any other occasion, Jan De Wit scores 5 stars across the board.

However, tonight was a major disappointment. The manager kindly showed us to a table where upon it became immediately obvious that the waiter responsible for the table did not want us there and made it quite obvious, then the real disaster started.

We tried to order a margarita pizza for a starter with two steaks to follow. The waiter then informed us that the pizza was “not good” when we questioned this statement, he repeated it a further three times. This begs the question, was the pizza really not good or, as is most likely, the waiter thought that was all we were going to order therefore occupying a prime position table at a busy time. Everybody at the restaurant tries very very hard and frankly they do a superb job, the food is generally excellent but this one waiter in particular fusses around your table too much and is overly familiar. He needs to wind his neck in and do his job properly. Or better still, sack him!

We have been visiting this restaurant for many many years and never before has any waiter said the food...

We celebrated my friend’s birthday at Jan de Wit in Marmaris and had a wonderful experience. The food was excellent and the owner was very friendly. As a compliment, we were first served local bread and small appetizers, and at the end of the dinner they brought us tea and fresh fruit. We ordered octopus, the “Mona Lisa” steak, a Greek salad, marinated fish fillet with shrimp, and salmon. We sat on the terrace on the 3rd floor with an amazing view. Everyone really enjoyed the evening, and we left absolutely satisfied...

We love this place. Beautiful harbourside setting and stunning views from the rooftop terrace. The staff are so friendly and welcoming. Each member of staff had personally welcomed us and introduced themselves, by the time we had finished dining. They make you feel special and nothing is too much trouble. The fillet steaks are beautiful and cooked exactly to your request. This is one restaurant on the harbour that we would gladly recommend and we will certainly be visiting the Restaurant Jan De Wit on our next visit...
