Visiting this restaurant used to be on our regular schedule when visiting Kiev. Always experienced very welcoming and friendly service and phantastic food. But today we actually had a very disappointing experience when sitting on the terrace: the waiter was doing his best to ignore us whenever possible, and when serving us he did so in a non-verbally rude, nearly aggressive manner - whilst being totally polite and attentive with all other guests. We (two foreign girls) can not guess what the problem was. Also when my friend was cutting her foot at a sharp piece of metal that was pointing from the restaurants doorstep, he was just shugging his shoulders when she was indicating that this spot is dangerous and possibly needs remont. As foreign guests in Ukraine we never experienced such behaviour before.
Update: dear Chachapuri, thanks for getting in contact. Actually we did speak some Russian (though not very well, I admit). The whole situation might have been a strange misunderstanding and we appreciate your attempt of solving it. Anyway we just left Kiev, but now we consider visiting again next time, for we always liked the food and the atmosphere in your...
Read moreUnfortunately, those khinkali that had meat in them were quite poor in terms of form. They had far too much liquid to meat ratio and therefore were sloppy and far too hot. I was very hungry and decided to tackle the first khinkali with a fork and knife. The waiter proceeded to come up to our table and belittle me for using utensils. I told him that if I ate them using hands it would burn my hands and my mouth and tongue and he just laughed. I shrugged this off but later on when the remaining khinkali had reached a temperature that I could actually use my hands, the waiter made another condescending joke about how I had figured out how to eat them. Guess what pal, I’ve eaten far more khinkali than you have in your immature life. If the khinkali had been prepared properly with the right amount of meat in them, they wouldn’t have been a sloppy mess forcing me to use a fork for the first dumpling and then to clean up the others with utensils. Word of advice: don’t talk down to your customers in this manner. It’s not a good look. It’s a shame because I would have left a great review if it...
Read moreNice place with a decent ambience. Traditional Georgian food. Very friendly service too. The food we ordered was quite good too, though a bit unexpected in taste. The waiter was very funny too (see bill 🤣), and was happy to try his best to explain things in English, as best as he could. The loss of two stars was because Lack of vegetarian options on the menu. The only things we could order were full of cheese or bread. I would have even loved to have a veggie version of a dolma, with herbed rice. Instead he veggie version of dolma was full of cheese 😐. the bread basket was a big disappointment too. It was basically an assortment of very salty crackers. No complimentary bread was served at the table, which is again something you expect. It was a bit pricey for that standard of restaurant. We've had good in similar traditional restaurants that were much more...
