Copperheads — Restaurant in Kyiv

If you ever need a reason to come to Kyiv, Copperheads is that. A genuine and excellent speakeasy that truly represents what a speakeasy should be. There’s a popular one in the city, where you are limited to a choice, but at Copperheads you only need to offer your preference (the more specific you get the better) and you’ll get a drink that is exactly what you wanted. We came twice in our short stay in Ukraine and on our first visit each of our requests were more than adequately met.

The music is what you should expect of a speakeasy, especially with Copperheads tie to America and Democracy. You’ve got all the brass you could dream of, we’re talking early blues to the likes of Stevie Wonder.

A nice hidden speak easy bar near the central square of the city (Maidan Nezalezhnosti). The founders of the bar dedicated it to the Democrats after the American Revolutionary War. The format is democratic, where everyone can communicate freely with others. The quality of drinks is at a good level, and the staff is friendly.
