Located in the heart of Lutsk, Trapezna "Pidzemellia" offers a unique and immersive dining experience set in the atmospheric basement of a historic monastery. The 600-year-old walls, combined with furniture crafted from metal and wood, create a harmonious blend of strength and tradition. The walls are adorned with stylized torches, swords, shields, historical plaques, and portraits of illustrious princes, evoking an authentic medieval ambiance. An original photo zone with an enormous throne and an honorary guard in knightly armor adds a touch of grandeur, making the venue a treasure trove of history and an ideal setting for memorable photos.

Pros: The service was exceptional, especially thanks to a tall, slender waitress with beautiful eyes and a clear dedication to her work. She provided excellent recommendations, politely explaining menu options available during a power outage (the restaurant operates seamlessly on a generator). Her suggestion to try the chef's special dish was spot on—it was incredibly delicious and truly memorable.

The interior design is impressive, with the Hall of Monarchs standing out for its elegance and historical charm. The overall atmosphere was warm and inviting. Despite being busy, the restaurant felt spacious and well-organized, ensuring guests could enjoy their experience without feeling crowded. The presentation of dishes was refined and artistic, elevating the dining experience. Additionally, the venue offers plenty of excellent photo opportunities, further enhancing its appeal.

Cons: In comparison to similar establishments in Lviv, the lack of a host or guide to welcome guests and offer a brief introduction to the halls was noticeable. Such a touch would significantly enhance the guest experience and deepen the historical immersion.

The restaurant seemed slightly understaffed, with only three servers managing a large number of guests. While they worked tirelessly—sometimes even running in dimly lit areas to keep up—it was clear they were stretched thin. Management should consider reinforcing the team during peak hours to maintain high service standards.

The portions were surprisingly small for Western Ukraine. For instance, the modest serving of veal on a skillet felt underwhelming, especially compared to experiences in other cities like Ivano-Frankivsk.

A simplified, separate menu for periods when the generator is in use would streamline service and reduce confusion for both guests and staff. Additionally, introducing tasting sets of house-made infusions would add a delightful touch and elevate the overall dining experience.

This place definitely has a vibe. An astonishing vibe, that is. With a descent into the dungeon, you will be transported back to the 15th century to a feast of Prince Vytautas of Lutsk, organized in honor of the supposed congress of monarchs in 1429. This spirit of the Middle Ages is felt not only in the walls of the cellar, which, according to the staff, are more than 600 years old, but also in the clothing of the waiters, the choice of dishes, and the music (kudos to the soundtracks from The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt; if I could, I would give six stars just for that).

Service is quite fast, except for a few dishes. The food is tasty, although it is fairly typical; you will not be able to find anything particularly unique. For obvious reasons, I advise you to choose one of the halls in the basement rather than on the terrace. There is also a small photo gallery where you can sit on the throne surrounded by two knights.

Надзвичайно атмосферне місце, що зі спуском у підземелля перенесе вас у XV століття на учту до князя Луцького Вітовта, організовану на честь конгресу монархів 1429 року. Цей дух Середньовіччя відчутно не тільки у стінах підвалу, яким, за словами персоналу, більше 600 років, а й через одяг офіціантів, вибір страв та дуже колоритну музику (особливо дякую за саундтреки з "Відьмак 3: Дикий гін", якби міг, поставив би 6 зірок тільки за це).

Обслуговування досить швидке, за винятком декількох страв, про що завчасно повідомили. Їжа смачна (і порції великі), хоча доволі типова, чогось надунікального знайти не вдасться. З очевидних причин раджу обрати один із залів у підвалі, а не на терасі. Також там є невеликий фотозал, де можна самому возсісти на троні в оточенні...

Спустившись до закладу, ніби опиняєшся на перехресті століть. Колись ці підземні ходи могли служити прихистком для ченців. Тепер же, відроджені й оновлені, вони зберігають атмосферу минулого, доповнюючи її сучасними штрихами. Кожен камінь у стінах наче зберігає пам'ять про події, які колись тут відбувалися, і це відчуття додає вечері неповторної автентичності.

Вечеря була просто чудовою: все подається в глиняному посуді, що додає особливого шарму. Страви дуже смачні: м'яско, картопля, особливо сподобались соління – неймовірно хрусткі та насичені за смаком.

Ціни теж приємно дивують — в середньому 550 грн на людину (з алкоголем, настоянки по 40-65 грн). У порівнянні з тією якістю їжі та рівнем сервісу — це просто знахідка. Особливо хочеться подякувати офіціанту, який не лише професійно обслуговував, а й провів невеличку екскурсію, додаючи до нашого вечора трішки історії та чарівності.

Єдине, що трохи засмутило – відсутність крафтового українського пива (було би круто мати вибір хочаб в баночках). Стандартний асортимент пива не зміг задовольнити наші смаки. Але це дрібниці на фоні загального враження.

Цей заклад – справжній скарб Луцька, до якого хочеться повертатися...
