Cukor RED — Restaurant in Lviv Urban Hromada

So my friends and I have visited this place at least six or seven times in the last month or so. That should give you an idea of how committed we are to this cafe right off the bat, but let me share a few words about how this might be the best breakfast place in town.

First - unlimited drip coffee before 1pm for 18 hryven. That's amazing, and standard in most American diners, but an absolute rarity out here. Granted, sometimes their coffee machine breaks, but for that price I really can't complain.

Secondly - the breakfasts. The English breakfast is awesome, as well as breakfast-ish crepes (called млинці (mlintsi) in Ukrainian). The bacon mania and the all-in are fantastic. If you get pancakes, get the ones with berries, they are incredible.

Third - other stuff. The burgers are decent and decently priced, the American chowder is really good for the money (comes with an apple), and the salads are nothing to scoff at either.

Basically it's the best breakfast place you can find in the center for the price. They take the IT club discount card (as well as a ton of others) which already makes the price even more comfortable. They're still a little young and getting the whole service thing down (the quiche for example is delicious but it takes like 20-30 minutes to make sometimes) but other than that it's a fine establishment and worthy of a visit (or several as is...

Food was ok, but overpriced. What was the worst was the service. 30 min waiting for coffee another 30+ min for food. Dishes did not come all together (we ordered just four), but 10 min apart. we asked 2 waitresses to bring us additional cup for tea. Arrived after another 15 minutes. During payment, the terminal had no connection. Eventually the waitress charged us twice (fortunately the card was prepaied as the second payment did not go through due to insufficient balance). They did not let us go, as they did not see the payment, even though we were showing them that the card was charged. They were keeping us there for good 10 min before we escaped. After several hours the money came back to our account, so we went back to pay. The very unpleasant waitress said the terminal is not working and demanded cash, did not want to accept any other currency (last day, we did not have 700 uah in cash) so we had to run and exchange money. The servers refused to give us any confirmation that we paid by cash (receipt said we paid with card). Exchange the staff, as it spoiled the whole experience. Great food for such prices. The only bad thing id like to point out is that i got my orange juice in a glass bottle with a very small mouth area and a plastic straw. First off all, dear Tsukor owners, please stop using plastic straws. This should be a no-brainer in 2019. Also id suggest using regular glasses for juices as, like i stated before, the bottles have very small mouth area, so not only it’s hard to drink from them in the first place, but the orange flesh, pulp gets stuck in there, making it impossible to drink. This also goes for the straws, the pulp gets stuck in them, so an this point i don’t see why you would want to use straws anyway, since the “comfort and making it easy to drink factor” is out of the picture.
