Great setting, great location and potential to be a great place overall but service is unacceptable! A table with 8 people who all got their food except my food. I asked for a lamb ribs medium rare. After asking I got served a rib eye steak, well done which I sent back. The Maitre D came to me, kneeled down and told me me that all good is pre-cooked and then jacked off in the pizza ovens they use. First time in my life that I hear such a thing... Instead of lamb or meat I then went for the gamba’s in garlic with butter sauce which was quite good as shrimps were not overcooked. Another colleague ordered asparagus which never arrived.
Here some tips for the restaurant: have salt and pepper on the table, we asked three times for it if you pre-cook your food, it should be written on the menu as most people will be seeking after medium/ medium rare meats -you have two major pizza ovens but only serve a 4 cheese pizza, maybe just have a couple more choices?!? there is no real kids menu ask whether customers are enjoying their food work in zones, we had 4 people serving us coming 4 times with plates that were not for us keep an eye on the tables and whether they still have drinks and clear the table when people are done eating.... it took 40 min to clear the table for the half and then another 15 to clear the rest maybe ask for a desert or coffee employ more capable staff that understands their job
Great location, great view but a lot of work on service. It is questionable whether the concept with stone ovens is applicable...
Read moreBrick Rooftop Kitchen & Bar is the chill spot to bring on the night. Located on the roof of the Aloft Hotel, Brick is laid-back, designed with a California open concept look. The panoramic views of the city, water ways, and on our night, the incredible sunset make this space a must try in Abu Dhabi. The bar offers an array of drink/food specials. On this evening we had the 45 AED special - one house beverage and one small plate of appetizers. The two massive pizza ovens take center stage in the open air setting. The aroma wafting from this kitchen area made our mouths water. When we arrived, we were offered a high top with a great view of the setting sun. Our server provided a quick run-down of the specials and went over he menu with us. Over the course of the next 2 hours we sampled different beers and wines and dined on wings, short ribs, sliders and finally a pizza. All were tasty, but the short ribs were my favorite. Watching the lights of Abu Dhabi slowly turn on and begin twinkling in the distance was a wonderful treat. At the far end of the restaurant is a make-shift stage and they had a solo performer strumming her guitar. Overall, Brick Rooftop Kitchen & Bar was the perfect spot to take in this wonderful...
Read moreHad a lovely sundowner brunch experience at Brick In Aloft Hotel. Pretty capital views and a place with great vibes you can’t ask for a better Thursday!
The brunch menu includes a regular selection of Beers, Whiskey, Wines and 2 cocktails of which the Brick Brew was my fav! A gin based cocktail infused with Indian spices that was quite refreshing.
The food included a variety of brick oven specialities covering rustic sourdough bread, baked chicken wings, crab&prawn cakes, a variety of pizza options and a eggplant rollatin which was really good. Didn’t expect eggplant to taste so yum!
Frankly the starters included so much that made us feel like we’re done but they also have mains and desserts included. For me, the main courses were a bit boring and not the best (chicken & salmon dishes) but the desserts left us with a perfect sweet ending. They have s’mores and a really delicious chocolate brownie with vanilla ice cream & topped with nuts. Can’t complain!!
Located on the 12th floor, Brick is a perfect winter time spot if you’re looking for a relaxed evening with your partner, family...
