This is regarding the vegan brunch menu.
One of the main appeals of vegan cuisine is its reputation for being a lighter, more health-conscious alternative. Unfortunately, this was not the case here—save for a few select dishes.
The majority of the menu is dominated by deep-fried preparations, many of them drenched in overly sweet sauces that mask rather than complement the ingredients. Of the twelve dishes we sampled, only three were gluten-free, which felt surprisingly limited given the restaurant’s positioning.
The lotus root, for instance, arrived neither crisp nor balanced in flavor—its cloying sweetness overwhelmed any natural earthiness. The grilled hoisin dish was particularly disappointing: minced Beyond Meat served over fried potatoes, lacking creativity and refinement. It felt lazy and uninspired, again leaning toward casual street food rather than the elevated plant-based dining experience the restaurant seems to promise.
The tempeh barbecue was a rare highlight, avoiding the excessive sweetness that characterized most of the other offerings. However, the shakshuka was underwhelming, presenting as a heavy tomato sauce accompanied by fried bread and a few pan-crisped chickpeas—more a rustic stew than the comforting yet nuanced dish one expects.
When it came to desserts, the bingsu mango followed the same trend as many of the mains—excessively sweet, overshadowing the natural flavor of the fruit. On a brighter note, the apple cinnamon dessert was surprisingly not that sweet good—pleasantly balanced and not overwhelmingly sugary, provided you skip the extra sugar layer offered on top.
The allergen information on the menu was inaccurate, with certain items—such as the sweet lotus—not listed properly.
If this style of food is what you enjoy, you may still find value here thanks to the lovely view and pleasant music—because that, ultimately, is what you are paying for, not the quality of the food. On a positive note, the staff were friendly and attentive...

During our recent staycation, one name that truly stood out was Cyan Brasserie at Andaz Capital Gate. Let me just say this the experience was nothing short of phenomenal.
Big shoutout to Kai, one of the most humble and polite hosts we've come across. Her warm demeanor and attentiveness added a personal touch that made us feel truly welcomed. Another star was a lady from Nepal, I think her name was Sushila (apologies if I’m not recalling it perfectly) — but her service was truly 5-star. She handled everything with such grace and genuine hospitality that it deserves recognition.
Now coming to the food experience Breakfast: Out of this world. I mean it. The spread, the freshness, the flavors — 100/10. Easily one of the best breakfast buffets we’ve had in the UAE. Dinner: Okay, let’s be honest, when we first saw the set menu, we were a bit disappointed. Looked small, limited. But oh boy… once the dishes started arriving, the taste and portion sizes had us shook (in the best way). Each course was bursting with flavor and beautifully presented. And the dessert? I genuinely have no words, it deserves its own award.
One small suggestion though, the kids’ menu could use a bit more variety. Just adding a few more dishes or another course would really elevate the family experience.
To Cyan Brasserie: Thank you for making our stay extra special. You’ve set the bar sky-high, and we’ll...
Read moreThe Cyan buffet breakfast deal for 75AED is an absolute treat! I visited last weekend and in addition to buffet items, there is made to order shakshuka, at no extra charge. It was delicious - hot and with a choice of how the eggs are cooked. The coffee was also tasty and hot. We also enjoyed fresh juices, fruit and pastries from the buffet. There were many other items on the buffet too - hot and cold options - and everything was kept fresh and at the right temperature. The staff were attentive and helpful and the food service area was kept clean and tidy. The restaurant is on floor 18 of the Hyatt - a record breaking building with a man-made lean - so we enjoyed looking at the building, the view from the restaurant and terrace and the decor/artwork at the hotel too. I definitely recommend this buffet for food...
