Jazz Bar — Restaurant in Abu Dhabi

The worst experience ever. I had booked a table to celebrate my wife's birthday with my sons. We were shocked at the attitude of the guard at the entrance who was a racist. My elder son who is 26 years was not carrying his I'd because he forgot his wallet at home. Rest all of were carrying our id's but the guard refused to let us in wherein there were many Europeans who were allowed to enter inside without being checked. When we asked him.why he is allowing the others he said it is his wish. I am the head of one of the biggest hospitals of abudhabi. I gold him that and I was prepared to keep my I'd with guard till we finish the dinner as a guarantee but he was adamant. We asked to meet the manager muhammed aurangzeb shaikh and were shocked at his attitude. He was rude and wanted us to leave. Luckily my son had a I'd in his phone and it was showed to them. The least that we expected from the manager was a apology for being so rude on a good family occasion but he still continued to be rude and inhospitable. I told him that as a hotelier and customer service person isn't it basic that you apologise to my wife and family for being so rude since we were going to still spend the evening at the restaurant but he refused and he did not feel it was important. We just spent 45 mins in the restaurant and left. The hostess from Philippines our table was very courteous and apologetic for the rude behaviour of her manager. Big mistake Hilton abudhabi. It was my first time attending the Jazz Bar. The atmosphere was very nice, and food ordered from the menu was good. My friend and I shared the BBQ wings, a beef quesadilla, and two order fries. The food prices are a bit pricy, but we didn’t mind too much because we did enjoy the food and the live band and DJ were awesome. Let’s move on to discuss the drink package that is offered. You get a choice of 5 drinks to select from on their special menu. You can choose a regular cocktail, mock tail, beer, or wine. Well, my friend I weren’t able to take advantage of using the 5 chips allotted for the drinks because the waitress wasn’t attentive enough once the place got crowded. So, we paid 109 AED for 2 drinks that weren’t that great, especially the Gold Fish mock tail. It didn’t have a taste at all! I could have had water. Decided to return back the next Friday to use the unused drink chips and was told we would have to order a new package as per the policy. No compensation was offered. No complimentary drink…..nothing. Definitely won’t be returning nor will I recommend this place to any of my friends or coworkers. Upon my entrance, the hostess remembered me. She pleasantly seated me at a great table with an amazing view of the band. I heard about this jazz bar by a few and the reports were good, but if when I googled them and if they didn't seem to be of my taste I'd decide not to go. However, that wasn't the case. I ordered, the drinks were great!!! The service was awesome!!! The atmosphere and ambience was amazing!!! The food, well my Greek salad and grilled prawns presented well, but lacked flavor. The band!! The band started out very well. I was rocking in my seated to the tunes of oldies and goodies with flashes of today. Shortly after my meal the band was on break. The music the d.j. played was for teens and 20 year olds which is fine, but that wasn't the age group of the crowd. Soon, people left. At this point, I lost my groove hoping when the band would return they would restore it, but not so. When they did return the music was more of the same... I just couldn't take anymore and I left too. Overall, it's a nice place to sometimes hear SOME jazz music. Btw, everyone in the band has amazing musical talents. I just think they should differentiate their music to...
