I’ll try to be brief, I never write or give any place bad reviews but today was quite disappointing after looking forward for this visit for quite some weeks and would like to bring this to your attention. As a first-timer here at the Deck. Up to the point of arrival, everything was fine. Upon arriving at the deck, no proper welcome - staff was too in a hurry to give us any information only said we can walk around and be seated anywhere we choose. So, we found a table, sat down for around 10 minutes and no one came nor was bothered to attend us to us, perhaps short of staff, but that is not a customer’s concern. We had to get up and look for service staff at counter and was told to sit anywhere the some one will come to take the order. Few minutes later a someone came and took our order. 15 minutes we were served water, glasses were not polished had some round visible water marks on them. Ordered a sanpelegrino and upon serving waiter mentioned “sorry we don’t have sanpelegrino” we only have Al Ain local water. Quality of napkin towel, was terrible - should have been discarded if not up to standard/quality instead of serving it to customers. The smoked salmon sandwich we ordered, was was the worst we have ever had, not much thought nor effort was put into it - from presentation point of view (at a deluxe venue) to taste, plain - nothing special to remember it by. Thai beef salad, we ordered - not origal but I wasn’t expected it to be - so it’s alright. Presentation/plating however could improve. Another disappointing note, Windows were really dirty, could not see outside very well - but then again, understanding the issues of living in Abu Dhabi - there are a lot of dust all year round. So I can understand the difficulty of cleaning it spotless all the time is not that possible. But given that the deck us the key highlight of “Abu Dhabi” visit, maybe some importance could be put into it after all.
So, overall it’s just a very disappointing visit for a 6 star hotel - poor service quality, cleanliness of outlet in general should improve (table top is clean but bottom of table / leg have lots of dust) and food quality was incredibly poor. I guess, I’ll leave these photos can...

Read moreI booked the infamous afternoon tea to impress our visitors with fantastic views of Abu Dhabi and some great food but we only really got the good views. I’ve been before a few years ago for the afternoon tea and could remember it being way better than it is nowadays. We were quite disappointed by the upkeep of the furniture - seats had threads coming out of them or damage to the leather that hasn’t been fixed. This made it look and feel quite “tacky”. Considering it’s quite a luxury to pay 260 AED per person for an afternoon tea there, it would have been nice to have that same feeling when sat at the table.
Service was terribly slow. We had to ask 3 times in the space of around 20-30 minutes just for our second order of tea/coffee.
The food was fine but because they tried to theme the food to strawberries, the taste of the food want that great and the quality of the way they were made was not to standard. Cheesecake was a lump of mousse almost that just fell apart and the quality of the scones was shocking. The scones should be the best part of the afternoon tea but they were dry, no taste and also extremely small.
We still left feeling satisfied enough simply because of the views and probably the...
