Kawloon Chinese Restaurant — Restaurant in Abu Dhabi

I rarely ever write reviews, but my recent experience at this restaurant was so disappointing and unpleasant that I feel other customers deserve to be warned. First of all, the food that was served to me was absolutely not fresh. From the very first bite, I could taste that something was off—the ingredients didn’t taste right. When you go to a restaurant, the most basic expectation is that the food will be fresh, safe, and worth the money you’re paying. But what made the whole situation even worse was the attitude of the staff, especially one particular female staff member. Instead of addressing my concern with professionalism and courtesy, she was extremely arrogant and rude! I politely pointed out that the food didn’t taste fresh and instead of offering to replace it or at least apologizing, she gave me an unbelievably rude response. She actually told me that if I wasn’t happy, I should go and eat in another branch! I was shocked. What kind of customer service is that? I came to this location expecting a decent meal and respectful treatment, and instead I was insulted and made to feel unwelcome. Her attitude was not only unprofessional but also completely disrespectful. Staff here has no basic training how to handle complaints with grace. Where she got that confident to tell me to go and eat in other branch. This just shows that this branch does not care about its customers at all. It was clear to me that they are not interested in improving their service or food quality—they would rather push customers away than take responsibility. I left the place feeling upset, disrespected, and definitely cheated out of my money.

I regret coming here I will never return, and I strongly advise others to save themselves the frustration and spend their money somewhere else where both the food and the service are taken seriously.

We entered the restaurant minutes before 3pm. Before ordering, the staff informed us that they will close at 3:30 and we said okay. We ordered noodles, fried chicken, tofu with green vegetables and steamed rice. The food was awesome!!! It’s perfect! Unfortunately we didn’t enjoy our experience because of the staff standing beside our table waiting us to finish and staring while we were eating. We know your timing and we are eating as fast as we can but stare at us while were eating? Come on guys don’t do that to your customers. One staff asked if we want to add something. We want to, but you made us feel to just swallow everything and go. When I’m almost done, the guy asked if we’re done. He can obviously see that we’re still eating. So rude! It’s better if you just refused us from the beginning. But anyway, still 5* for the food and 0 for customer...

Our starter, chicken drumsticks, was a hit. For mains, we enjoyed the Singapore fried rice and Hakka noodles immensely with chicken Manjoorian. However, the Sheswan fried rice and Majestic Chicken gravy didn't quite meet our expectations.

One notable thing - their main course portions are generous, with one plate easily feeding two people.

Highly recommend trying the Singapore noodles and pairing it with Singapore fried rice and Chicken Manjoorian - a winning combination. With a bit of tweaking to their menu, Kawloon can truly shine. Looking forward to...
