I recently had the pleasure of dining at Bayt Al Wakeel, and I must say, it was an amazing experience. Located in a prime spot with great views of the river, this restaurant offers more than just delicious food—it provides a captivating ambiance. To reach Bayt Al Wakeel, you have to navigate through a bustling market, which can be a bit overwhelming due to the persistent vendors vying for your attention. The menu boasts a variety of delightful dishes, but the standout for me was undoubtedly the lamb chops. The tender, succulent meat was seasoned to perfection and cooked just the way I like it. Each bite was a burst of flavor that left me craving for more. Another highlight of my visit was the karak chai. It's a must-try. The karak chai provided a comforting and aromatic blend of spices that complemented the meal splendidly. While the journey to Bayt Al Wakeel may involve navigating through a lively market with persistent vendors, the reward of indulging in their lamb chops and sipping on their invigorating karak chai makes it all worthwhile. The stunning river views add an extra touch of magic to the...
Read moreI really liked this place. It was awesome. Great place I think we made the right thing coming here (but be warned you have to pass through street market sellers who will literally try to drag you in their street stands to buy their souvenirs. Just say NO, NO AND NO lol). Ok this restaurant looks very nice, great view on the sea (ask for a table near the water so you get a better view). Waiters are friendly and polite. Helpful! The food is great and prices are perfectly fine. We had a lot of food and it was all great. No complaints whatsoever. Try it and you won't be disappointed. Just keep in mind, it's dubai and it's almost always very hot and humid: do you really want to eat too much? Do you really want to drink alcohol in that climate? Stay fresh and light. You'll feel much better. We had a lemon and fresh mint drink and it was delicious and refreshing. Try it and the day I'll go back to Dubai I'll definitely go back to this restaurant. 10 out of 10 for food staff location and view. 5 stars well...
Read moreThey rightly call it "a restaurant and a monument". Arguably the oldest existing restaurant in Dubai since 1935. The name means in English "The Agent's House" as the place also served as the first shipping agent's office in Dubai. The extension into the water is done aesthetically with glass floor at certain parts through which we can see small fishes and other marine life. Dhows and Abras passing by adds to the charm of the place.
The service is excellent with people like Mr. Shihab who took me and family for a tour of the old main building explaining its history and even giving us a view from the terrace top; Ms. Maria who promptly arranged a baby chair for my two year old toddler and pampered him. They also arranged pencils for my 4 year old to play some games on the disposable table mats and volunteered to take some family pictures of ours.
Ordered the seafood basket which was tasty and reasonably priced for the ambience and charm they are served with. Altogether a...
