Belad Al Sham offers a delightful journey into authentic Arabic cuisine. With its rich flavors and warm hospitality, it’s a standout destination for food lovers. Here’s my detailed experience:
Food Quality (4/5)
The food was nothing short of amazing! I tried the Areyas and the Mixed Kebab, and both were exceptional. • Areyas: Perfectly crisp bread stuffed with flavorful, well-seasoned minced meat. The balance of spices and the juicy filling made it an absolute delight. • Mixed Kebab: A medley of perfectly grilled meats that were tender, juicy, and bursting with authentic Arabic spices. Each skewer had a distinct flavor, making the dish both diverse and satisfying.
The sides, like the fresh salads and dips, complemented the dishes beautifully, enhancing the overall experience.
Ambience (4.5/5)
The restaurant’s atmosphere is cozy and inviting, with a traditional Arabic touch. The decor, music, and comfortable seating added to the charm, making it an ideal spot for a relaxed meal with family or friends.
Service (5/5)
The service was impeccable. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive, ensuring that all our needs were met promptly. They were happy to recommend dishes and made sure we had a great experience.
Value for Money (4/5)
The portions were generous, and the quality of food was excellent. Considering the authentic flavors and overall experience, the pricing felt justified.
Overall Experience (4/5)
Belad Al Sham Restaurant is a gem for those craving authentic Arabic cuisine. The Areyas and Mixed Kebab are must-try dishes that truly showcase the richness of their flavors. With its excellent food, welcoming ambience, and outstanding service, it’s a place I’ll definitely return to.

Read moreWe read the reviews about this restaurant and decided to visit for a quick celebration of a new job offer at the end of the day however, it all turned out into a sheer disappointment and we soon realised that the reviews posted are not authentic. To begin with, the staff of the restaurant lack basic hospitality and are too grumpy to serve, their unhappiness to work with this restaurant reflects in the way they interact with the customers. Everyone is fighting their own battles but none of the staff that served us had any courtesy to greet us, they had absolutely no smile on their faces and probably they are extremely unhappy working at this place for some reason. When asked about the suggestions on menu for the best food served there were no good enough options shared. Anyway we decided to go for grill and tikka which arrived uncooked and did not match the relevant reviews, the quantity did not match the price and the taste of the food was so poor that it immediately made us miss the grill and tikkas served in Jabal Al Noor cafeteria which is worth the price and we felt an instant REGRET for not visiting Jabal Al Noor just because we wanted to try this restaurant based on the reviews on google. The restaurant decor is good but hospitality needs intense improvement and maybe the food is good but we did not receive better suggestions. To sum it up poor service bad food don’t waste your...
Read moreI was raised in the building next to Belad Al Sham and have now moved across the world to California but this will forever remain the BEST SHAWARMA in the world for me. Nothing compares to the taste of the pickles in the shawarma, the crispy bread on the outside and the juicy chicken roasted to perfection with the creamy yogurt sauce inside.
I used to live in New York City and every shawarma place I've tired, I've always compared it to Belad Al Sham. My husband frankly used to get super annoyed cause I always used to say, "it's better in Dubai" haha until he had it!
I remember a time when I used to ask my mom for 1 Dirham and 50 fils to go buy shawarma (way back probably around 2004-2008). I was fortunate enough to bring my husband in May 2021 who absolutely loves the shawarma as well! This is my first stop especially if I land in Dubai in the evening, I always have my first ever meal from Belad Al Sham.
Everything is fresh, delicious as always and super quick service. Salads are fresh, Hummus and babaganoush as always amazing! It's been such a pleasure to see this restaurant growing for more than 20+ years. Will always have such fond memories here.
If I find any old photos of this place, I'll post them later! But the food is...
