I was here on an early Tuesday night, during their All-You-Can-Eat Promotion of 156 AED. The handful of service staff is friendly and helpful; The interior is warm and cosy although the music was quite loud. There is a policy that all food has to be eaten on the premises and that there are charges for wasted or left on the plate food, which is understandable. There were a handful of tables occupied and I counted a minimum of 5 chefs in the kitchen.
I ordered 3x4 slices of sashimi and 3x2 sushi for my first order. The sashimi took over 30 minutes to arrive, while the sushi didn’t arrive until an hour after the order was taken. It was presented over some crushed and partially melted ice, which reduces the temperature of the fish to below the optimal serving temperature, but sometimes make it all look a little more appealing. In this case that wasn't the case, but since the hamachi sashimi was actually really good it didn't matter. The Ebi (Shrimp) was slightly overcooked though, either by this kitchen brigade or by someone else’s. The maguro (tuna) was of mediocre quality.
Given the time lapse I ordered an additional 3x2 Nigiri sushi when I finished my sashimi. The first order of sushi was some cooked sushi, which were quite OK, with warm and moist rice; they were all a little one-dimensional in flavour and a little on the sweet side. I ordered some of the sushi rolls as I was still hungry.
The nigiri sushi that followed – it was now 75 minutes later and this was only my third plate – had overcooked, gooey (and thus definitely had been prepared hours before) and under seasoned rice to the level it was unpleasant in the mouth, even though the fish was of acceptable quality.
I asked if this type of delivery time for orders was “normal” and as this was acknowledged decided to cancel the sushi rolls.
I honestly don’t understand how in a well staffed kitchen (at least for this level of patronage) - at a Japanese fusion restaurant - it is possible to take 75-minutes to dispatch three plates of sushi, with properly cooked and seasoned rice and freshly cut fish.....
AED 156 is not expensive for sushi. Waiting for good food isn't a problem either, but waiting for mediocre food is - in my opinion - always too expensive and just...

Finally found a Japanese spot in this saturated market that provides you with fresh flavors at reasonable rates.
Miyabi reflects its contemporary fusion through its 180+ unique dishes in a casual dining environment. The eclectic menu leaves you spoilt with choice but will get you trying something new each time!
🥢 Started off on a high note with their Shrimp Gyoza, a buttery shrimp filled glossy dumpling. Smooth, juicy and flavorful. Highly recommend this. ( aed 33 - 5pcs)
🥢Next onto their street food special, the steak Katsu sando. Breaded angus sandwiched in a buttered toast with a spread of miyabi sauce. This was a disappointing messy dish to say the least. The meat was chewy, hard to tear apart. If you order this, imagine yourself fighting a sandwich at the table, and the Sando wins 🥇 (aed 62, 3pcs)
🥢 their signature 49ers roll, a twist of salmon in your basic California does amplify the flavor. Highly appreciated the fresh cut of salmon which melts in your mouth. (Aed 30, 4pcs)
🥢lastly we tried their new Cheetos Flamin Hot roll… and WOW! Definitely not spicy, but put mango, shrimp tempura & Cheetos together, you’re sure to get a kick out of that. Couldn’t get enough of this one. ( aed 28, 4pcs)
🍹 Spiced Passion Fruit perfectly paired with the dishes. Sweet tangy flavors with a kick of cinnamon spice in a minty ginger ale really added the oomph. In love with this 🫢 (aed 23)
No doubt I’m heading back there for more! as you should as well. Do check their page out to know more about their...
Read moreEdit: NEVER GOING BACK TO THIS PLACE AGAIN!! We just went to the Miyabi thinking about having some California rolls and Brisket Bao. But had to leave in 5 minutes since we realised it's not the same place anymore. Customer service has gone from 5 to 1 if I rate it. As soon as we gave the order an indian guy came and told us that it would be difficult to bring it soon, although we never asked. And he also added that there are other customers waiting and our turn will come later only. That was enough for the attitude and we left. It totally felt very unwelcoming. The previous staffs were really good. The current ones seems to be very judgemental and picks the service according to the nationality and color also it seemed. Because there were some customers who came later but they took our order after serving all of them. Not deleting the old comment so that the management understands that we were people who really liked this place before and you have let us down( If they care!!)
Old comment below:-
It has always been a wonderful experience to dine at Miyabi. They have amazing staff as well who know the Real meaning of customer service. This time we were served by Justine Ramirez, who was very friendly and came each time always with a smile that never faded. We ordered California rolls and Brisket Bao and both were...
