Had a really bad experience… to begin with no one really receives/welcomes you or even shows you where to sit..i chose a place to sit and 8mnts later a waiter approached me and I gave my order.. I asked if they had any non spicy food and I was informed they do(super excited to hear that) made my order and requested for dates before my food was ready.. This is where things start getting really bad… the dates were moist when I say moist I mean WET, Water 🤦🏾♀️I requested for room temperature water they did not have that, I requested to have fruits n they did not have that too… finally my food was ready I was super hungry, as I was fasting.. the food was COLD and extremely spicy😡😡😡 I was over this place by now…I informed the team about this and nothing was done they did not even bother looking for a solution like requesting to warm my food or get me room temperature water from wherever, the best they could do was say sorry ma 😡😡… I was out of that place the minute my sisters arrived And headed out to Enish to get something to eat…… chophouse has ZERO customer service I honestly couldn’t even finish my meal.. It’s such a shame … my advice if ur looking For an African restaurant DO NOT GO TO chophouse…waste of...
Read moreThe reason why I’m giving them 2 stars is because of their prices , all their dishes go above 100 dirhams ,I understand they said all Nigerian products are imported, I think its their excuse to keep the dish prices so high but even though I was disappointed for a side dish we ordered we paid 100dhs dirhams for a side of boiled Yam and scrabble eggs that the server recommended without telling me that just scrabble eggs will cost me 60 Dirhams they call it “egg sauce” which on the menu the pice for just Yam is 40 dhs which I find it a bit high on price still for a side of boiled vegetable and for fried egg is 35 dhs.
Can’t really judge about african food as I’m not an expert but ill say the food was good the atmosphere is also good , decoration of the place a bit weird for an african restaurant but I don’t think its that important when you visit a place to eat. Anyhow they should fix their prices and be clear to their guest when they ordered particular items and inform that prices on the menu changed, maybe if they lower the prices at least people will come and The place wouldn’t...
Read moreNew Nigerian Restaurant in JLT!
New and very welcome African (Nigerian Cuisine) restaurant in JLT, a month old, however still experiencing teething and operational problems, cash-only service, no convenient means of cashless payment, highly inconveniencing customers by going to ATM or requiring transferring to a Nigerian bank account at exorbitant exchange rates, keeping customers for over an hr as a result, waiting and kitchen staff is excellent, but management attitude and customer service is deplorable, food is also a 5/10 though presentation is wonderful 9/10, beef was extremely fatty, egusi oily, gave me the runs the next day. Won't be returning for some time till these issues are fixed.
PS. Did eventually transfer payment to a Nigerian bank. Supervisor attitude despite having the means to collect payment was to delay us for over an hour because he wanted a higher, more exorbitant exchange rate. Had to call police before was able to leave. Check for these things before choosing to eat here. We hope they...
