HK Dubai Review: 12/12/22
Overall: I ordered the Scallops, Meatballs, Sea Bass and Sticky Toffee Pudding. The food was what I expected, and I would definitely recommend ordering the Sea Bass as your entree and Sticky Toffee Pudding for desert. The Monday special chicken could be improved on. It tasted like a slightly elevated Nandos. Not that thats bad, but I expected better from a Gordon Ramsay Resturaunt.
In depth: Scallops (appetizer): 5/6 for taste and 4/4 for plating. Scallops were extremely tender and each flavor popped out. It could benefit from a more earthy or green puree like fava bean or green asparagus and a more punchy flavor. Although the light flavor could be a stylized choice.
Wagyu Meatballs: 5/6 taste and 3/4 for plating. The meat was extremely tender (Since its wagyu) and I don't really have any overall complaints apart from the wagyu might be overkill and it needs a touch more salt. The plating could be improved on with the construction to make it look more clean and fine dining. Again, this might be a style that the chef went for. The little thing is I think the meatballs should be served with a spoon since it would be easier to scoop up the remaining sauce.
Sea Bass: 5.75/6 for taste and 4/4 for plating. I devoured this dish; every element worked and everything was perfected. The plating was vibrant and enticing to dig in. The only tiny problem I had with the fish is that it was served with a small amount of salmon roe. I think it does not need it and it temporarily takes over your pallete while eating this. Another thing is if you ignore the salmon roe it would get hard overtime, Therefore it wont be nice to eat.
Monday Chicken Special: 4/6 for taste and 2/4 for plating. This dish could definitely be improved on with a soothing taste and better plating.
Sticky Toffee Pudding: 5/6 for taste and 3/4 for plating. Overall very good, but could be a tad less sweet and be a bit more vibrant in plating. Compared to GR Bread Street, this Sticky Toffee is much better and doesn't feel like a glorified cake.
The staff were absolutely 10/10 and were extremely friendly. There was a specific member of staff that was extraordinary, his name is Rohit, and he was very friendly and made sure we were enjoying our dinner. Not to mention we got a free welcome dessert.
Overall, I would recommend going...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreGrowing Up and Gaining Knowledge about food and the science behind it I often turn to one person in Particular, Gordon Ramsey. He was an idle to me when it came to cooking and controlling the kitchen floor.
So you wish the food you actually eat at one of his restaurant would swipe you off your feet, but unfortunately it was nothing like that. We arrived around 2 pm for lunch me and my brother. As it was a fine dine , we loved the idea of a fresh bread being served , instead it was a cold bread which was probably cooked in the morning and now sitting in a storage space to be served to customers. A fine dine expensive area would atleast have the courtesy to serve fresh and warm bread as starter.
We both ordered red wine (the only good thing in the entire course), and waited for our main course. We were not ina mood to order appetizers, so we could finish our main course in peace. I ordered the Medium Beef Wellington and my brother played it safe by ordering The HK Burger.
We waited around 25 min for our meal to be served to us, and when it was served it looked beautiful, the texture, the pastry looked crispy and the mash potatoes were well served. The HK burger looked full filling and tasty.
What looks good does not mean it tastes good, the food was cold, as if the steak was rested past it required time, I know meat and I know it very well , the pastry was not all crispy it was spunge as it had absorbed a lot of moisture, the meal had a missing flavour which meant the salt were not added accordingly.
As I washed down 275 DHS dish, while my brother was looking rather pale with his, I requested a bite and his Beef Patty was missing salt completely I could taste the raw beef, the flavours were off.
I did not wanted to complain as we had a lot on our agenda and too less time, so we finished what we had paid for. But my entire gastronomical experience of Gordon Ramsey HK was a complete disaster.
I strong recommend GR, I know you are a my idle but your chefs at HK Dubai are under trained or the staff is not managing the food timing right.
Food Science excites me and I will never stop discovering different cuisines.
Hope to have informed your management or any other person who reads...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAs a regular patron of Hell's Kitchen by Gordon Ramsay, located in the Caesar Palace Hotel at Bluewaters Dubai, I've been constantly impressed by their commitment to culinary perfection and customer satisfaction.
During my latest visit, there was a minor hiccup related to the scent of the beef, which was slightly off from the flawless standard I've grown accustomed to at this fine establishment. However, it's worth mentioning that it was the management's response to this situation that truly exemplified the restaurant's superior customer service.
Led by the remarkable Mr. Sohan, the management team immediately addressed my concern. They reassured me that they would investigate the matter thoroughly with their supplier to pinpoint the source of the issue, reflecting their commitment to maintain their high-quality standards. Moreover, they went the extra mile by insisting that my entire meal was on the house.
This gesture was an unexpected and very much appreciated demonstration of their dedication to their customers. It reaffirmed my faith in Hell's Kitchen as not just a purveyor of fine food, but as a restaurant that values its guests and their dining experience above all.
The meal itself, even apart from this incident, was a testament to Gordon Ramsay's reputation for excellence. Each dish, from the appetizers to the dessert, was a masterful blend of flavors that encapsulates the culinary genius behind Hell's Kitchen.
The city of Dubai is known for its rich array of dining options, but Hell's Kitchen, with its phenomenal service and exceptional management led by Mr. Sohan, truly sets itself apart.
Hell's Kitchen is not just a restaurant, but an institution that places great importance on food quality, customer service, and an overall unforgettable dining experience. This was not just a meal, but a gesture of goodwill that has cemented my loyalty to this establishment. You can trust in the commitment of Mr. Sohan and his team to exceed your expectations every time, all while ensuring the highest quality and...
