Kamat Vegetarian - Al Qusais — Restaurant in Dubai

Tried this place for lunch today. Ordered the Thali and wow. The number of varieties! There were just too many varieties of curries and sides. There were a maximum of 8 puris for one Thali itself. The best part is that it's just 20 Dirhams. Just 20 Dirhams for good and probably food enough for two people! The food came on time and the online experience was perfect. 4/10

Came here for our Thursday night dinner. Had to wait a while for our seats to be ready.

We came in and ordered a few starters, Paneer Malai Tikka - This was good, good sauce. Stuffed Mushroom - Everyone else liked it but i did not. Wonton with Garlic sauce - i liked this!

For soup we went for, Mushroom Ginger Rice Soup - A good soup with stuff to munch on. Lemon Corriander Soup - A spicy blend of good flavours.

For drinks we went for, Sitafal Milkshake - Really good! Cocum Sherbet with Soda - Not so good, did not like it.

For the main course we ordered a few items, Mushroom Biryani - tasted good with good flavour. Masala Dosa - Good tasty Masala Dosa. Veg Hakka Noodles - felt tasteless. Vegetable Hyderabadi - This was really bad, not good at all. Achari Kichdi - BRILLIANT!! I RECOMMEND THIS ONE! Jaipuri Kichdi - This was good as well! Would try more Kichdi's next time around! Water - Water.

We visited this restaurant during breakfast time on a weekend. It was almost empty. We actually visited it thinking the famous Kamat chain from Hyderabad but this is different. This Kamat is of the same group as Gazebo. The ambience is good and well done with nice soothing colours. Service was not that great apart from normal what you can expect for such a restaurant. Everything was seeming top notch but that class was missing. About food, it was very basic tasting, tea was bad too. We have had better breakfast food at smaller restaurants. They accept zomato pro as payment. The worst part was they asked us to pay on zomato without showing us the bill just verbally telling us the amount. After making the payment they handed the bill later with which also was a leaflet of QR code for feedback, which didn't work. When we informed the same to the cashier, he was least bothered. Kamat takes the Pure-Veg dining to unexpected levels by offering a cozy, ambient setting, matched by very courteous and attentive service.

The menu sports the typical pure-veg dishes, plus a plethora of varieties/combos.

We ordered a Paneer Tikka Masala (approx. AED 33), a Mushroom Kadai (AED 23), Naans (AED 4) and Butter Rotis (AED 3).

The dining area arrangement (seating, lighting and everything from the decoration flowers to the placemats) is to be specially praised. It elevates the mood altogether and makes for a great time spent.

Dishes are priced a tad little higher over peers. The dining experience and service renders this premium absolutely worthy.

Personally, Kamat takes the accolades for the best-arranged and best-service among the pure-veg restaurants, with food at par with the neighbouring Sangeetha and Vasanta Bhavan.
